(AllHipHop News) The Magna Carta was a historical document marking the first time the King of England’s power was limited by his subjects centuries before Jay-Z sold his to Samsung.
Jay-Z visited the 898 year old document at Salisbury Cathedral in southwest England for an hour according to officials at the cathedral. Young Hov also met the cathedral’s dean Rev. June Osborne who said Jay was “a delightful guest.”
The cathedral is showcasing the original Magna Carta next to the artwork for Jay-Z’s chart topping Magna Carta Holy Grail.
In related news, Jay-Z might have changed his name and He changed his name and WE N E O it. Last night (July 17th) the editor of BillBoard Joe Levy sent out a message on his personal twitter informing the world that Jay-Z dropped the hypen from his name:
Breaking: Jay Z has dropped the hyphen from his name, according to his label. I am not kidding. (Wish I was.) Copy editors: take note.
— Joe Levy (@RealJoeLevy) July 18, 2013
The editor soon noted that while Jay’s label has confirmed the drop of the hyphen there have been inconsistencies in its usage:
@wesleyverhoeve Didn’t take anywhere. NYT, all media, fans. Or the cover of BP3, for that matter. iTunes credits “JAY Z”; cover says “JAY-Z”

Here’s a picture of the Jay Z iTunes page:

I am sure Diddy got a million retweets and replies when he tweeted prayers for the Martin Family after George Zimmerman beat the case. But, there was one person that wasn’t impressed with the notion of “prayer” for the family. Polow Da Don, the man that once proclaimed himself to be the “King of White Girls,” was not having it! Look at how it played out on Twitter and share your thoughts.
My prayers go out to Trayvon’s family!!!! God bless them!!!
— Diddy (@iamdiddy) July 15, 2013
And then Polow Da Don replied:
@iamdiddy THATS ALL YOU GONE DO???? JUST A PRAYER???? N##### ARE DOOMED….
— MARIO SOMEBODY ELSE (@PolowDaDon) July 15, 2013
Polow has a point, in the notion that praying alone will not help the situation. That’s why people are taking it to the streets and trying to revoke certain laws. The biggest battle…is still ahead.
Polow looks a bit different now by the way.

But it was all good in 2007.

(AllHipHop News) In late May, police found $8,000 in cash on Chief Keef during an arrest for speeding. Now in June, Chief Keef’s estranged baby mother has taken legal action against the star rapper over unpaid child support payments.
According to TMZ, the mother of Keef’s daughter Kayden claims he has only paid $1,900 in child support. Weeks before his speeding arrest, the rapper born Keith Cozart was court ordered to pay $3,100 a month (including $500 for daycare).
A judge has ordered Keef to appear in court in September to explain the missed payments and an arrest warrant may be issued.
This week has been a real test of the father skills of the Finally Rich rapper after his 1 year old daughter was hospitalized after being in a car accident. Kayden was placed in a neck brace.

I don’t know who is doing what over there in the news section, but they did a story on Gillie Da Kid, where he’s proclaiming he’s paying Tupac in a new movie. BUT, the factoid I am most interested in is that the movie is a SUGE KNIGHT movie. This could be interesting, if the movie is honest. If you ever want to know what went on with Death Row, read this:

Exclusive: Gillie Da Kid To Play Tupac In Upcoming Suge Knight Film; Discusses Acting Roles
Anyway, there is a new movie being developed about Suge Knight and it seems that Ving Rhames may be playing Suge? Ving and that boy Gillie are putting in work. Can you see him playing Suge?

I don’t know. Maybe.

Here is Gillie talking about playing Tupac.
Here is something that was floating about the internet in 2011, but that was a documentary.
Controversial Death Row Records co-founder Marion “Suge” Knight Jr. is the focus of a documentary that will be produced by and broadcast on Showtime, the network announced Tuesday.
Tentively titled “Suge Knight,” the film will be directed by Antoine Fuqua (“Training Day,” “Brooklyn’s Finest”) and co-produced by Fuqua and Bradley J. Fischer (“Black Swan,” “Shutter Island,” “Zodiac”). Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist and former Times reporter Chuck Philips is also one of the film’s co-producers.
Showtime said the Knight film is the first in a series of documentaries for the network from “talented and prestigious filmmakers” that “will spotlight iconic and controversial figures.”

(AllHipHop News) Jay-Z’s huge opening week sales for his latest album Magna Carta Holy Grail were just the beginning. Billboard is now reporting that the LP will easily top the album sales chart in its second week as well.
There are no official or unofficial numbers in yet, but industry sources can already conclude that no other project seems to be threatening Jay’s reign at the top.
If MCHG stays at number 1 for another week it will be the first time a rap album has topped the Billboard 200 for consecutive weeks since Lil Wayne’s Tha Carter IV in September of 2011.
Since that time J. Cole’s Cole World: The Sideline Story, Mac Miller’s Blue Slide Park, Drake’s Take Care, Nicki Minaj’s Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded, Nas’ Life Is Good, Rick Ross’ God Forgives, I Don’t, 2 Chainz’s Based on a T.R.U. Story, A$AP Rocky’s Long. Live. ASAP, Kanye West’s Yeezus, Wale’s The Gifted, and Cole’s Born Sinner have all reached number, but none of those albums were able to hold onto the top spot for more than a week.

Another week at number one for Jay would also make it five straight weeks that an album by a Hip Hop artist sat at the pinnacle of music sales in the country.

(AllHipHop News) There is a long history of professional athletes who decided to venture into recording rap music. Shaquille O’Neal, Kobe Bryant, Meta World Peace, Deion Sanders, and Roy Jones Jr. were just a few of the high-profile sports figures that tried their hand at Hip Hop. Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver DeSean Jackson is now adding his name to that list.
The 2-time pro bowler enlisted fellow Los Angeles native Snoop Lion for his new L.T. Hutton-produced single “Diamonds on my Neck.” The pair shot a video for the track directed by DaVisionaryz.
Jackson has no plans to quit his day job. He just wants to explore another part of his life that he enjoys.
“I fully realize that football is my main job, and I love it with all of my heart, but who says you can’t love more than one thing at a time,” says Jackson. “Football and rapping are the two loves of my life!”

Guess what? It looks like Kanye West is out to get more of these:

That’s right. Lil Baby North just was born last month, but Kanye West is already rumored to want Kim to pop out more kids. Seems like Kim is not trying to hear that ish right now, since she had a very difficult pregnancy. She gained a lot of weight too and you know they made a big deal over that.
A source from the Star purporting to be an insider spoke on it.
“At first, Kim thought Kanye was joking, as she’s been through such a stressful time in the past few months and she’s only just started to feel herself again. As soon as she realised he was serious, it sparked a spat,” a source revealed to British magazine Star.
“Kim reminded Kanye she faced a horrific ordeal with Nori. She feels if he was any kind of supportive partner, he would realise how difficult that was for her, and he would wait until she’s regained her confidence.”
I bet that insider can’t get a pic of Baby North!
On the rumor side, Kim is rumored to be looking to sell her weight loss to somebody like Weight Watchers in the same way J-Hud did.
ANYWAY!
Shout out to Bruce Springsteen! Shout out to Bruce Springsteen for dedicating his song “41 Shots” to Trayvon. The original song was dedicated to Amadou Diallo, a victim of of the NYPD.
