Hip-Hop Rumors: Wu Tang’s Big 2013 Plan!

Email me your super dope rumors: ki*********@***il.com

Uh oh! Wu Tang Clan still ain’t nuttin’ to F with and they aim to re-engage people’s memories this year. Guess how? Its their 20th Anniversary and the crew is making big plans. Now, I am not fully sure of what they got going on, but I heard its in the fall and I heard it will be some sort of concert. I don’t know if you know, but they also have a clothing line via Rocksmith clothing that may be offering up some specialties. But, most importantly, people are wondering if the group will release a new album as a collective. That remains to be seen. I’m hearing there may be some differences of opinion about things and how it will go down. Last year, they convened for the Paid Dues tour so there is some parts of this that can work!

Ghostface recently told XXL that RZA was holding out on the tracks!

“8 Diagrams (Wu’s 2007 album), I couldn’t stand it ’cause I know us, and then I know my man [RZA] even more,” he says. “I’m like, ‘Yo, how could you give our f*cking people that?’ Now you had people that said, ‘Oh no, I liked it.’ That might be the ‘yes men’ n*ggas. You know what I mean? Or it’s a miss or something ’cause I know how we can be. These motherf*ckers wanted the skits. They wanted to feel like they at home with us. They wanna feel like, ‘Y’all didn’t hear this in a long time. What y’all got now?'”

The crazy thing is people like Rae and Ghost have been able to do really good solo projects that have kicked ass. You those beats and those producers and rock out. RZA doesn’t even have to do the beats in 2013.

Here is some of that Rocksmith goodness.

Jesse Boykins III’s First Headlining Show at SOB’s [VIDEO]

From the 1920’s Jazz and Big Band music of Duke Ellington and Walter Page to the 90’s blend of the conscious and hardcore Hip Hop of A Tribe Called Quest and Wu-Tang Clan, New York City has always been a melting pot for diverse musical styles. March 21st, 2013  at SOB’s was a manifestation of that core ideal as Urban Contemporary cult star, Jesse Boykins III headlined his first show at SOB’s. The mostly female crowd mixed in with dinner guests made for

Lina Gatineau

A truly great live show is measured by the sum of its parts and not simply a fantastic headliner. Hailing from Montreal, Canada is the mesmerizing newcomer Lina Gatineau. This impressive vocalist mixed between original songs and one stirring cover of Erykah Badu’s 1997 classic breakout hit “Tyrone”. At one point the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in Los Angeles graduate began to direct the lyrics of “Tyrone” at two gentlemen in the front without laughing or breaking character. The true standout  moment was the opener, her unabashedly personal song on an indecisive ex-boyfriend entitled “Frontin'”. Over a seductively brooding bass guitar Gatineau’s angelic voice gets raw:

“Remind me why I put up with this,

bulls**t you pull I know a’int legit.”

Yazarah made sure every person at SOBs left with her burned into their memories. The veteran R&B vocalist has been a backup singer for Erykah Badu, released four solo albums and now is apart of the multi-genre collective The Foreign Exchange with Little Brother’s Phonte. Her charisma was apparent from the start as she was carried to the stage through the crowd on a man’s shoulder wearing a colorful kufi.  Nineteen months removed from giving birth, Yazarah and her powerful vocals were riveting as she went through a few Prince classics (“Purple Rain”, “Little Red Corvette”) an original soulful ballad (“Starships”) and a few other covers. She made you feel her pain with stories of wanting to throw herself at “the walls of life” hoping to die. She made you laugh  by saying she needs positive reenforcement mid-song. She was a consummate performer.

Then there was Jesse.

This man took his hair out of a bun into a wild mane and the entire crowd screamed for more. It was that type of night. From the love-struck middle aged woman in the front to the boisterously dancing young woman by the back bar area, Jesse had everyone in SOBs under his spell. Making them sway with a smooth rendition of Andre 3000’s “Prototype”. Using an engaging call-and-response in an extended performance of the “Amorous” to have the jam packed SOBs sing his words.

Even with repeated microphone issues and some visible miscommunication with his effects guy, Jesse and his various vocal tones made for a wildly entertaining night. However, it was not clear if this was by design or impulse but Jesse’s set felt as if it went a few songs past its welcome even with a raucous closing performance of “Tabloids”.

But when you’re following awe-inspiring talent and having women yell “do more, we paid for it” the urge to overextend is a hard temptation to pass for a genuinely passionate singer such as Jesse Boykins III.

(AllHipHop News) Last night (March 22) at the West Fest concert, Ray J and West Coast rapper Bad Azz were involved in a massive brawl backstage at around 1pm.

According to TMZ, it appears the fight started when Ray J called a woman a “fat b*tch” as he was moving past her in the backstage area.

The concert was presented by “Bobby Dee, Clubben.com, and Behind the Scenes and hosted by Power 106 FM’s radio personality Big Boy.

The concert featured performances by Warren G, Mack 10, Baby Bash, Clyde Carson, Problem, Skeme the Duke, and headliners DJ Quik and E-40.

At the time of print Ray J has yet to issue a statement on the incident, nobody was arrested, and there is no word on if there is a connection with Bad Azz and the woman Ray J is seen arguing with.

Bad Azz issued a statement to TMZ.com, claiming the fight was due to past tension over an incident involving Suge Knight.

The Dogg Pound rapper claimed he was assaulted by Suge because the former Death Row mogul found out Bad Azz had been speaking bad about Ray J behind his back.

This is interesting. Ray-J beat up Bad Azz? I’m trying to figure this out. Bad Azz and Ray-J fighting? So, the Breakfast Club got at Bad Azz over the recent fight with Ray-J. The TMZ report suggested that Ray beat down whoever he was fighting. Bad Azz says they basically got it on and nobody really got beat down. He did say he tapped Ray-J’s jaw. He says in the past Ray J got him beat up by Suge night and some others. He also says that Ray-J like “boys and girls.” He ran it all down below.

But they said he got beat down… see that video here! Hip-Hop Rumors: A Gucci Mane Sex Scene In A Movie? Ray-J Beating People Down?

Hip-Hop Rumors: Selena Gomez Broke Up Brick Squad?

What the b##########? WHAT THE HELL???

Gucci Mane suddenly dropped Waka Flocka from Brick Squad. It came out of nowhere! I didn’t know a thing until now. Apparently, the folks over at MTO are charging that Gucci dropped his dopest rapper because he slept with Selena Gomez. Basically, the rumor is GUCCI LOVES SELENA NOW and WAKA HIT THAT ALREADY. WTF? This is in line with the rumors of old.

RELATED: Hip-Hop Rumors: GTFOH! Gucci Mane and Selena Gomez?

RELATED: Hip-Hop Rumors: A Gucci Mane Sex Scene In A Movie?

SO. Basically, Selena Gomez was loving the crew? Wow. And then the rumor has it, Gucci became enraged and emotional that Waka hit it, claiming that Waka was being disloyal. This leads me to believe Waka may have done something after Gucci fell in love. I just cannot see Gucci falling in love with anything but drugs. That’s just me.

Here is the catch. Gucci may have “dropped” Waka, but he’s still got him on paper so he will continue to make money if Waka releases any new material.

“Gotcha”

FOX To Make TV Show Based On O.J. Simpson Murder Trial

(AllHipHop News) Over 17 years since a jury decided the glove did not fit so they had to acquit, FOX decides to turn the most publicized murder trial of the last 20 years into a TV show.

Tentatively entitled The Run of His Life: The People vs. O.J. Simpson, the show is being called an “event series” and is planned to have 10 to 12 episodes. Written by Academy Award winning writers Scott Alexander and Larry Karaszewski the show would transport viewers to the 1995 trial and the behind the scenes stories rarely told.

This is not FOX’s first attempt at revisiting the murder trial. In 2006, planned to hold a two-part interview with Simpson during the promotion of controversial book If I Did It.  In the press release, the station revealed that the interview would show as “Simpson describes how he would have carried out the murders he has vehemently denied committing for over a decade.”
