Full Lineup Revealed For Austin’s Three-Day “Fun Fun Fun Fest”; Run-DMC, De La Soul, A$AP Rocky And More On Bill
(AllHipHop News) Several days after it was announced that Run-DMC would be reuniting at this November’s 7th annual Fun Fun Fun Fest in Austin, Texas, organizers have revealed the event’s full lineup.
In addition to the reunion of Rev Run and DMC, who have not performed together in over a decade, Fun Fun Fun Fest will also include performances from the likes of De La Soul, A$AP Rocky, Bun B, AraabMUZIK, Santigold, Rakim, Danny Brown, Kreayshawn, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Schoolboy Q, comedian Hannibal Burress, and many more.
Graham Williams, Founder and Producer of Fun Fun Fun Fest, said of the event, “We book fun fun fun fest, like a festival we’d want to go to and we’d want to see. Adding Run-DMC this year, just put it over the top and made that dream come true.”
The three day festival, which is set to take place on November 2-4, still has more announcements to make in August and September regarding additional performers.

With his newly released mixtape, Thrillionaire, Columbia Records recording artist T. Mills has set out to show both his fans and the music industry how he’s evolved since his last project, Leaving Home, dropped exactly one year ago.
After a recent collaboration with Juicy J took the Internet over a few months ago, and features from Smoke DZA, Audio Push, and Cocaine 80’s were spotlighted on Thrillionaire, Mills has set out to stretch his Hip-Pop sound the best way he knows how – by evolving into something broader and more universal.
Mills, who is currently performing as one of the headliners on this year’s Vans Warped Tour, spoke to AllHipHop.com recently about Thrillionaire and it’s inevitable sequel, some of the more “left-field” collaborations he has in the works, and the difference between putting on for a crowd at a venue as opposed to thousands at one of the many festivals, like The Bamboozle or the Vans Warped Tour that he’s already hit up this year.

Rockie Fresh Discusses Deal With Rick Ross’ Maybach Music

The 21-year-old rapper, who hails from Chicago, said he was thankful to be a part of one of today’s most popular Hip-Hop labels.

Busta Rhymes’ “Friends” Revealed For Brooklyn Hip-Hop Fest Concert Finale
(AllHipHop News) The culminating concert for the week-long 2012 Brooklyn Hip-Hop Festival (BHF’12) will continue in the tradition of previous years – by bringing artists from Hip-Hop’s storied past to celebrate their musical legacies onstage together.
This year’s BHF’12 headliner – Busta Rhymes of YMCMB – will do the same, as the festival organizers from Brooklyn Bodega report that his show on Saturday, July 14 will feature an all-star lineup from his early days on the rap scene as a member of the Native Tongue clique.
Returning to the BHF stage is Q-Tip, the longtime Busta Rhymes friend and collaborator from A Tribe Called Quest, who served as the headliner for the 2011 festival. Last year, Busta Rhymes was highlighted as a “Friend” during Q-Tip’s performance, leading some to believe that one of this year’s “Friends” may be chosen as the headliner in 2013.
According to the BHF’12, lifelong fans of Busta Rhymes will also witness a long overdue reunion of his former rap pack, Leaders of the New School, which disbanded in the mid-’90s after a scoring numerous hits on the charts such “Scenario” and “Case of the PTA”. There is no word, however, on which former group members will perform.
The 2012 “Friends” performance will also include sets from special guests Raekwon and Rakim. The ever-performing Raekwon* of Wu-Tang Clan is no stranger to the Brooklyn-themed event, and Rakim’s rare appearance comes on the heels of his recent return to recording and touring.
The BHF’12 is nearing completion, and during the week, organizers have hosted numerous events, including the “Show and Prove Bowl” MC showcase with Freeway, Evitan, and more; the Dummy Clap Film Festival with films such as The Infamous Mobb Deep documentary; the Brooklyn Bodega Education initiative with Young Guru and others; and “Salute The DJ,” a tribute to New York’s urban radio pioneers.

Guerrilla Black Caught in Credit Card Scheme
(AllHipHop News) Seattle federal prosecutors have uncovered a credit card hacking scheme that’s resulted in the arrest of three people, including California rapper Guerrilla Black.
According to the Seattle Post Intelligence, the 33-year-old Los Angeles rapper, born Charles Tony Williamson, is accused of buying used credit card information, stolen by two other individuals.
Co-conspirators David Benjamin Schrooten, 22, of the Netherlands, and Christopher A. Schroebel, 21, of Keedysville, Md., have already been indicted.
The credit cards in question were previously used at Seattle businesses..
Prosecutors allege that Guerrilla Black stole over 27,257 credit card numbers netting at least $150,000.
Schroebel has already pleaded guilty to the charges against him.
Hip-Hop Rumors: Is Stevie J A Real Life Pimp With Debt?
I have yet to watch “Love and Hip-Hop: Atlanta,” but the show is unavoidable. And so are the rumors. So, here is a good one from one of my sources to you. They told me that Stevie J, who I only knew as one of Diddy’s Hitmen, has another distinctive trait. Rumor has it, dude is a real life pimp with actual skeezers! Now, trust me when I say I’m not saying this with any positivity. But, my source says that he’s known to serve rappers and basketballers with his high-grade brand of h####! I also heard this is how he’s managed to get through the lean years in the music game. Clearly, he is a different kind of pimp now that he’s pimpin’ this reality TV game! On the low, cats told me his baby boo chick Joseline used to be one of his chicks. Respect!
Anyway, on the low again, I heard that Stevie J handles his business in the streets too. This is why he can owe people thousands and nobody really move on him. I guess if you have it like this, you can do that s**t.

Ruffhouse CEO Chris Schwartz Stands By Beanie Sigel; New Album Set for August
(AllHipHop News) Music industry veteran Chris Schwartz is standing by rapper Beanie Sigel, the flagship artist on Schwartz’ relaunched, legendary label, Ruffhouse Records.
Earlier today (July 12), Beanie, born Dwight Grant, was sentenced to 24 months in prison, for avoiding paying taxes on $2.2 million on income earned from 1999-2006.
Ruffhouse Records, which introduced acts like Kriss Kross, Nas, The Fugees, Cypress Hill, and DMX, has sold over 100 million records since its launch.
Ruffhouse has a new distribution deal with EMI Label Services, which will release a new album by Beanie Sigel titled This Time, on August 28.
“We’re extremely proud to be re-launching Ruffhouse Records with Beanie Sigel as our first artist,” said Schwartz. “His sentencing today doesn’t change any of that in the least. Regardless of this unfortunate situation, Beanie has created a tremendous body of work that is totally worthy of the Ruffhouse name.
“It’s almost ironic that the sentencing is happening on the eve of this record, because this record is about introspection and redemption. Beanie is truly one of the great lyricists in the hip-hop game. He stands tall among all the major MCs and he’s revered by all hip-hop aficionados around the world,” Schwartz added.
According to Schwartz, the new incarnation of Ruffhouse Records is seeking established acts with a loyal fan base.
“I’m basically following the same criteria as the previous Ruffhouse Records for the artists we represent,” says Schwartz. “We’re working with self-established marquee artists, and Beanie is the perfect fit.”
