DMX Hires New Managers; Warns Against Fraudulent Bookings
(AllHipHop News) Rapper DMX has issued a statement after missing several shows, due to confusion as to who is representing him in his professional career.
According to the rapper, people have been contacting his previous managers, without knowing that he has fired them all and has hired a new team to represent him.
“I fired my old management team the day I got out of prison,” DMX told AllHipHop.com in a statement. “My money and career have been sabotaged for long enough. Makin’ music and performing for my fans, that’s what I’m doin’ now. The Dog is back and I’ve cut these thieves out of my life.”
According to the press release, DMX is now being represented by Jason Fowler of J-Mike Management & Entertainment, based in Mesa, Arizona.
Fowler said that he would pursue legal action against anyone that accepted deposits on behalf of DMX.
“We’re hearing reports of people making deposits for shows, only to find out that it was a fraud,” Jason Fowler said. “All bookings must be through his new management team, because DMX is not responsible for any transactions that are not through J-Mike Management & Entertainment.”
DMX is working on a new album that is slated to be released this winter.
The rapper is also preparing to launch a tour.

50 Cent Announces New Program To Provide One Million Meals In A Week
(AllHipHop News) Rap star 50 Cent continues his philanthropic work and has started a new initiative to fight hunger worldwide, through his new Street King energy shot that he recently released.
Today (October 17), the rapper kicked off a new initiative called “Hustle With 50 Cent,” which has a goal to provide 1,000,000 meals in one week, using popular social networking site Facebook.
Every time someone likes the Street King Facebook page, 50 Cent will fund one meal for one child. His goal is to get 1,000,000 likes in one week, to provide 1,000,000 children with a meal.
The rapper is even going above and beyond the responsibilities of his initial program.
If his Facebook page reaches the goal of 1,000,000 likes in one week, 50 Cent will match each donation and provide 1,000,000 more meals for a another million children.
The rapper’s initiative is timed to coincide with the World Food Day, which is run by the United Nation’s World Food Programme.

Ever heard the phrase, “if you believe this, I have a bridge for sale…” Well, a pair of schmucks stole a bridge and tried to sell it!
The Associated Press reports out of Western Pennsylvania that two brothers have been arrested in the theft of a bridge in a wooded area of Lawrence County along a railroad line about 60 miles north of Pittsburgh. Authorities said the thieves apparently wanted to sell the corrugated steel for scrap. Arrested were 24-year-old Benjamin Arthur Jones and 25-year-old Alexander William Jones, both of New Castle. They allegedly used a blowtorch to break up the Covert’s Crossing Bridge sometime between Sept. 27 and Oct. 5. They face felony charges of criminal mischief, theft, receiving stolen property and conspiracy.

Unreleased Song Featured in Tupac Sex Tape Gets Big A$$ Offer!!
As TMZ first reported, an anti-hangover drink company called NOHO has offered to pay $1 million for the rights to the unreleased song Tupac was rapping along with … while he was being “tended to” by a very friendly female in the 1991 footage. Sources connected to the negotiations say the offer was big enough to catch the estate’s attention, because a rep for Pac’s people reached out to NOHO, and the two sides are trying to work out a deal. There’s only one problem… the estate doesn’t have possession of the sex tape and aren’t even sure which song is playing on it.
So to clarify… $1 million is being offered for the rights to a song that no one knows what it is, or who it’s even by…they’re just “banking” on the possibility that it’s a never before heard Tupac song from a sex tape that hasn’t been released. I call bullsh*t. What about you?

The Roots Announce New Album Entitled “undun”
P(AllHipHop News) Despite a busy schedule of performing as the house band on the Late Night with Jimmy Fallon and also taking part in the Pre-Emmy Awards jam session, the Philadelphia based hip-hop band, The Roots, are releasing a new album on Island Def Jam.
The project, which drops on December 6th this year, is titled undun.
The release is the first conceptual album for The Roots.
The album’s first single will feature Big K.R.I.T. and will be available on iTunes November 1st.
undun is a re-telling of the short life of one Redford Stephens (1974-1999).
Using Redford’s dialogues, the legendary hip-hop group attempts to tell how free will and destiny affects the life ‘on the corner’ of Redford Stephens.
Adding to the hype of the new concept album, The Roots also announced that they will be peforming in New York City on November 29 and 30, as well as December 5 at the Highline Ballroom.
“At this point in our career we’d like for our work to have a unifying theme, and an experiential quality,” said Ahmir “?uestlove” Thompson, 40. “We’ve been intentionally making our albums shorter in length so that they can be experienced as a continuous work. The music is band-oriented with an eye on the moody cinematic. As a DJ, I am the King of playlists, but I don’t want our albums to feel like a playlist or a mixtape for that matter. We want to tell stories that work within the album format and we want the stories to be nuanced and useful to people. undun is the story of this kid who becomes criminal, but he wasn’t born criminal. He’s not the nouveau exotic primitive bug-eyed gunrunner like Tupac’s character Bishop in “Juice”… he’s actually thoughtful and is neither victim nor hero. Just some kid who begins to order his world in a way that makes the most sense to him at a given moment… At the end of the day… isn’t that what we all do?”
