Legendary Rappers, Producers In NY Say Goodbye To Fat Beats

(AllHipHop News) A number of world renowned Hip-Hop artists and producers will gather in New York all this week, to pay homage to legendary record store Fat Beats. The legendary record store, which was launched in 1996, announced they would close their remaining physical locations in New York and Los Angeles. To celebrate the company, artists like DJ Premier, Pete Rock, Just Blaze, Rob Swift, Ras Cass, Immortal Technique, Da Beatminerz, Artifacts, Bobbito, Masta Ace, J-Live, Pacewon and others will perform in-store at the New York location.  The events, which are free, begin today (August 30th) with Artifacts, Da Beatminerz and Immortal Technique and end on the store’s final day on Saturday (September 4th), with Just Blaze, A-Trak, Pete Rock and DJ Premier.Organizers are in the process of launching a similar farewell event later this month, leading up to the stores final day on September 18th. All performances take place from 4-9PM and are free to the public. Twista’s Documentary Explores Music, Violence In Chicago

Twista has released details behind a new bio-documentary, focusing on the chart-topping Chicago rapper’s rise to fame. The documentary was filmed in Chicago, New York, Los Angeles and Miami by The Vladar Company, the organization behind Big Pun: The Legacy.The film will be distributed to physical and digital retailers by EMI Label Services, which will also distribute Twista’s upcoming album.“The objective of this film is to also cover various social topics such as the city’s history of violence and also to explore Chicago’s influence in music and culture,” said producer/director Vlad Yudin. EMI will also handle the the licensing, retail marketing, licensing and synchronization for the Twista documentary, which will be released in October along with Twista’s new untitled album. “EMI is excited to continue working with Twista and are excited to be involved with Vladar’s film.  We think Vladar’s documentary will truly capture what a unique and creative artist Twista is,” said Mike Harris, Executive Vice President and General Manager, EMI Label Services and Caroline Distribution.  “We’re looking forward to all the exciting possibilities of working Twista’s next music project and Vladar’s film.”

The Dallas/Fort-Worth-based producer has previously worked with Lil Brother, Inspector Deck, GhostFace, Chamillionaire, Young Buck and Rhymefest.He was granted an opportunity to sit alongside Kanye West for an amazing collaboration that has had a huge impact on his career in the music industry. So S 1 stopped by AllHipHop.com for an exclusive interview to tell us how it all happened.   AllHipHop.com: It is to my understanding that you recently produced one of the hottest single out here, with Kanye West’s song “Power.” How did it happen?   S 1: “You know, my music was introduced to Kanye thru my man Rhymefest. He played some beats for Kanye in the studio. Kanye loved it and two or three days later, I am catching a flight out to Hawaii.”

Real Talk CEO Discusses Young Buck Mixtape

(AllHipHop News) Former G-Unit member Young Buck is releasing a new mixtape titled The Rehab, on the heels of his latest single “Hood Documentary,” which is a diss to G-Unit’s frontman, 50 Cent. The Rehab features Young Buck rapping over 14 tracks, produced by Big Hollis, Cozmo and Vince V. The album is being released through Real Talk Entertainment, which is headed up by Derrick “Sac” Johnson. “We are very excited about working with Young Buck on this project,” Sac told AllHipHop.com in a statement. “This project has been in the works for years, before 50 Cent and G-Unit. Young Buck is an international superstar and we are extremely proud to be releasing his street album, The Rehab.”Today (August 30th) on Twitter, Young Buck was clear that The Rehab wasn’t his official album. “It’s a MIXTAPE with new production over some old tracks. Let’s Make This Clear,” Young Buck tweeted. Young Buck’s mixtape The Rehab is due in stores September 7th.

Trick Daddy Cleans House At Dunk Ryder; Preps ‘www.thug.com2’

(AllHipHop News) Miami rapper Trick Daddy is focusing on the release of his upcoming autobiography, which will be released this Fall, the rapper revealed to AllHipHop.com. The book, tentatively titled Magic City: Trials of a Native Son, is the story of Trick Daddy’s colorful life in Miami, where he was raised in Liberty City, along with 19 brothers and sisters. The book focuses on his upbringing, his wild days on the streets hustling, his time spent incarcerated, his rise to fame as a rapper and his fight with the disease Lupus. Trick Daddy told AllHipHop.com that he was recording his new album www.thug.com2, which will be released on his Dunk Ryder Record label. The rapper, born Maurice Young, said that he recently “cleaned house” at the label due to some unscrupulous business practices that were taking place behind his back. “Due to bad business practices in my name and Dunk Ryder Records I had to clean house,” Trick Daddy revealed to AllHipHop.com. “To anybody that had to deal with any part of that, I want you to know that I was not informed about what was going on but when I found out I handled it. So I do as I always do, stay on the grind and leave the BS behind me.”At press time, Trick Daddy’s book Magic City: Trials of a Native Son is due in stores in November, while www.thug.com2 has no release date.
