“That’s What I Thought”

Kanye, Manager Get 50 Hours Community Service Over Airport Dust Up

Kanye West received some good news today (October 23) when a court commissioner dismissed criminal charges against the Chicago rapper.

West and his road manager Don Crawley were arrested on September 11 as they attempted to board a flight to Hawaii.

The pair were hit with the criminal charges after they pair broke a still camera and a video camera in the melee with the photographers.

The case was dismissed today, because West and Crawley settled reached civil settlements with the two photographers.

West must complete 50 hours of community service in exchange for the misdemeanor charges being dropped from the rapper’s record.

West and Crawley also completed 12 hours of anger management counseling as well.

In related news, director Spike Jonze revealed the source that leaked West’s dark, 14-minute short film We Were Once a Fairytale.

Jonze told the New York Times that the flick, which was supposed to be sold on iTunes, was leaked from the post-production facility.

The flick spread across the Internet when it was linked from West’s popular KanyeWest.com website.

“I think he was like,’Oh, it’s out. I’ll link to it,’” Jonze said.

Read on.The Homey Chance is going to take it from here.CHANCE ENCOUNTERS!SNOOP CRAVING BLOOD???Apparently Snoop is a big fan of True Blood, a show on HBO about vampires…he even references it in the first single for his new album…and now he’s put it out there that he’s like to be featured on the show.  He says he’d be a “hell of a vampire”.  So HBO get at the doggfather I’d watch it if he pops up but till then I’ll pass.IT MAKES SENSE……why the Jackson family is so concerned with making as much money as possible off of Michaels death.  Michael didn’t leave anybody anything in his will and according to this article from last year he was the only one with some money.  Tito has a blues band and plays at small venues for $500 to $1,500 a gig.  Randy does odd jobs, including fixing cars in a Los Angeles garage

owned by a family friend.  Marlon lives in San Diego, where he works

and what stars are apart of destroying this world. The stars who

worship satan and those who have killed to get the respect they have

now. Some of your favorite people pretend to

worship God but they only do that to save face.  Satan was head of music in heaven. He uses influential

SPEAKING OF RIRI…We can add another suitor to the list of those rumored to be wooing this pop princess.  An insider has said Usher and Rihanna text all the time and call each other at least twice a day.  He has also been sending her flowers with song lyrics or romantic quotes.  This is coming out of nowhere so I’ll wait before I believe this one but if it goes down remember where you heard it!!!!

YES!!!!!!!I really want this beef to happen so everytime Jay-Z or 50 sends a shot at the other I get excited.  But you know how hard it is to engage Jay-Z in lyrical combat…50 has attacked Jay again calling his gangsta/manhood into question…he told Complex:”You can’t be gangster Jay from Marcy and be the good guy Jay-Z on

just got that pass. There ain’t any tickets to an inauguration ball with n*ggas…It’s safe people there.” You just gonna let him talk about you like that HOV???  Huh???  Meanwhile 50 says he and Fab are cool.NOW THAT’S GANGSTAT-Boz was on Monique’s show the other day and talked about how CrazySexyCool made $75 million but TLC only received $50,000 a piece…artist getting the short end of the stick isn’t uncommon in the music business but they weren’t with it.  What did they do?  Fresh off her bid for burning down Andre Rison’s house Left Eye got some friends from the joint and TLC and ran up in the Arista offices with pistols drawn.  After excusing Puff Daddy from the meeting he was having with Clive Davis they proceeded to demand what they were owed.  She didn’t say whether he cut a check but she did say Puff called whoever needed to be called and told on them…SMH at you Diddy

Warning from “Neon” Deion Sanders:

“We’ll talk next week and see how I did. Nobody take these picks and go gambling.”

Now, Will “Deshair” Foskey takes over his regular column to present NFL Wrap-up Week 6.

First, I’d like to address the New York Giants fans. In my week 4 wrap-up, I showed a lot of respect to my favorite Manning, Eli. Eli is the little brother I wish I had. But then that would make me Peyton. Ok, scratch that statement from the records. The New York Giants, even after taking the woodshed whooping at the hands of the undefeated New Orleans Saints, are STILL the team to beat in the NFC (the Favre 4.0 led Vikings aren’t serious to me until they are lifting the Lombardi). So while other analysts thrive on heavy research and undeniable statistics, I am focused on the adversity.

The Giants are Ford tough, not like Ford Field in Detroit, the real tough. When Eli went ballistic on Bradshaw for missing the block on the blitzing safety; a block that could’ve lead to a rally building touchdown pass, this was when I knew that the Giants lost the game, and won the war all at once. The New Orleans Saints are riding high. Drew Brees is something like a phenomenon on the field. And their defense is the best in the league. But there is something out there that even their coaches can’t account for; their first loss. How will this young confident team react after taking their first ‘L’? To be honest with you, how will Jeremy Shockey react after their first loss? Jeremy’s actions were cancerous in the Giants locker room a few years back. If this Shockey reappears in the New Orleans locker room, it’s going to take more than a Drew Brees led battle cry to save their season.

The NFL regular season is a marathon, the playoffs is where your grit and heart is tested, and the Superbowl is where I’d like to be this year, so let’s set it up (sorry about that).

I have been on record for calling New England’s starting quarterback Tom “Cry” Brady in the past. That’s only because he was throwing imaginary flags in front of referees to get a penalty against the other team on an infraction that has his name on it. Don’t get it confused, I respect Tom. Dude came from out of nowhere and to the naked eye, didn’t appear to be as talented as he proved himself to be. Yes, Tom Brady is the Drake of the NFL. Now that we’ve gotten that out of the way, the 59-0 thumping of the Tennessee Titans this weekend wasn’t as heartless as what Sports Nation made it out to be.

The Patriots are not a team, they are a machine. The Patriots had the weather advantage and they played it to their strengths. Coach Belichick enters his commands and his team executes. It was the Titans that didn’t stop them. Ok, with that being said, Tom Brady was still on the field in the 3rd quarter. So if they weren’t running up the score, why would he be out there? Maybe he had another Patriot record to break that his coach wanted to reward him with. Who knows… the Titans had their equipment on, they were on the field, and even with their injuries at both starting corners, needed to play to win the game. If your team beat somebody 59-0, you would be bragging, not complaining.

And ok Eagles fans, who will you, be complaining about this week. Your offensive was shut down by an inspired Raiders team. Wow, did I just place inspired in front of the Raiders? Please don’t start chanting for Vick to hit the field. He is a third string Wildcat quarterback, and as far as the Eagles organization is concerned, that’s all he’ll be. Philly has done their good deed for the year in signing him; nothing more. You are stuck with Donovan “That’s Black on Black Crime” McNabb. Kolb is your backup. And if Kolb goes down, Andy Reid will be your starting quarterback.

Once again, I can’t talk about every team in these wrap-ups. Last week, I featured Terrell Owens and it felt like every major sports outlet featured him soon after. So if I didn’t speak on your team this week, let me know how your team is doing. And please, don’t be delusional; the truth is in your record.

Artists Sue Government for Using Music For Torture

A group of prominent artists are moving forward with a lawsuit against the U.S. government for using music as a means for torture at Cuba’s controversial Guantanamo Bay facility.

Last December, news hit media outlets about how military personnel were using music to humiliate and demoralize detainees.

Rage Against the Machine member Tom Morello is participating in the suit, and revealed that reports have shown the music was played just low enough to prevent detainees from suffering shattered eardrums.

“Guantanamo is known around the world as one of the places where human beings have been tortured,” Morello explained. “From waterboarding to stripping, hooding and forcing detainees into humiliating sexual acts, playing music for 72 hours in a row at volumes just below that to shatter the eardrums. Guantanamo may be Dick Cheney’s idea of America, but it’s not mine. The fact that music I helped create was used in crimes against humanity sickens me.”

Hip-Hop music was a staple of the torture tactic, with selections from Dr. Dre, Lil Kim, Eminem (“Kim,” “Slim Shady,” “White America”), and Tupac (“All Eyez On Me”) being used.

Even though songs like Eminem’s “White America” are ironically critical of American politics, the Bush Administration approved the track as a part of the “futility technique,” which seeks to show torture victims the hopelessness of their situations.

The goal of the musicians’ lawsuit, dubbed the “National Campaign to Close Guantanamo,” is to have all government documents declassified on music torture and have the base shut down.

In addition to artists such as the Roots, REM, Pearl Jam, and Nine Inch Nails, several former U.S. generals and lawmakers have joined the suit.

Previously, President Barack Obama had promised to close the facility by January 22, 2009.

However, the economic crisis and resistance from Congress have delayed that goal. At press time, a court date has not been announced.

Rhymefest Plans to Lodge with Fans on Rakim’s Seventh Seal Tour

Grammy award winning artist Rhymefest will be accompanying the legendary Rakim as he promotes his upcoming album The Seventh Seal on the aptly titled Seventh Seal Tour.

Rather than staying at hotels on the various stops of the tour the Chicago rapper sets to lodge with his fans.

This spectacle promptly titled “The Motorcycle Diaries” will be a video series hosted on RubyHornet.com and ElChetheMovement.com, documenting his adventures with hosting fans.

As amends for the housing in the prospective city, the fan(s) will be given two free tickets and back stage passes to the Seventh Seal Tour where Rhymefest will be an opening act.

‘Fest is no stranger to constant communication with fans. Regular conversations on social networks, emails, and even phone calls have lead him to be one of the most accessible artists in the game.

“Being accessible for me is extremely important because I’m not a mainstream artist and if I’m not that artist then I’ve got to get in with the people and be blue collar,” Rhymefest told AllHipHop.com. “But how can I be the blue collar El Che revolutionary motorcycle diary guy and not be accessible to the people?

“I’m not a rapper really I’m an activist and my whole mission is to be that ‘raptivist’. Being an activist is someone who cares about the people so it has to be of high importance,” continued Rhymefest, who recently moved from major label, J Records, to an independent situation at dN|Be Records.

As far as his sophomore release El Che the blue collar rapper had to say: “It’s more than just a name of an album it’s a beginning of the movement and the album is only a piece of that movement, The Motorcycle Diaries is a piece of that movement, the ‘Give it to Me’ contest is a piece of the movement. The movement is something that is not based on life it’s about movement and progression.”

Slated for a 2010 release Rhymefest is continuing to be accessible allowing an unknown emcee the chance to win a guest appearance on the single “Give it to Me” (feat. Saigon).

The contest is hosted also by Chicago based RubyHornet.com where you can find more details on participating.

Good Hair: Chris Rock & Nia Long Tackle the Roots

The debacle of one having “good

hair” vs. “bad hair” has been a constant topic in the

homes of African-Americans since before the days of the Afro. What exactly

is “good hair”? According to Chris Rock, “good hair”

is whatever hair-do being worn at a particular time that makes a woman

happy. Rock’s documentary Good Hair chronicles the importance

and popularity of hair relaxers and weaves among women in the African-American

community. The comedian-turned-actor and now fledgling director spoke

to some of his celebrity friends to gather the research for Good

Hair, in addition to voyaging to India to find out exactly where

these “human hair” weaves are manufactured, and doing an extensive

look into the annual Bronner Brother’s International Hair Show that

takes place in Atlanta. Rock travels around the country to reveal the

truth behind the reasons of what Black women (and some Black men) go

through to escape from have “naps.”

Among the guests openly speaking

on their love of “good hair” in the film include actresses

Nia Long, Raven-Symone, Meagan Good, Lauren London

and Sarah Jones; artists Salt-N-Pepa, Ice-T,

KRS-One, Eve and T-Pain; poet Dr. Maya Angelou;

activist Rev. Al Sharpton; video vixen Melyssa Ford and

music producer and executive Andre Harrell, among others. Rock’s

Good Hair arrives in theaters nationwide today.

AllHipHop.com:

One thing that was impressive was the great caliber of people that you

got to speak on camera about such a sensitive subject. Who was the hardest

person to interview for the documentary?

Chris Rock:

Maya Angelou ‘cause she lives in the town that the Dudley. So we knew

we were gonna be there so getting her was pretty hard. But once we got

her it was pretty great.

AllHipHop.com:

Who is this [film] geared towards?

Chris Rock:

Like anything I do it’s kinda geared towards everybody, but it starts

with a pretty Black sensibility. But there’s stuff in there that Black

people don’t know about. Did you know that your relaxer could eat

through a coke can?

Nia Long:

It’s kind of like we want to see the images on the film that we can

relate to. It’s like we want to go and see images on a film or a scripted

piece and say, “Oh my God, I know that feeling.”

AllHipHop.com:

Chris, I thought it was horrible when you said that men couldn’t touch

a Black woman’s hair. I didn’t believe it, so I went to a couple

of barbershops and surprisingly that is true. It’s surprising you

was able to pull that element out. Did you know that prior to this project?

Chris Rock:

(laughs) It’s one of those things that we [men] don’t even realize

that we’re doing it at this point because we’re just so used to

not touching the hair.

Nia:

I think Black men are careful, they don’t just go for it. They give

you a look like is it ok.

AllHipHop.com:

Did the underground India hair trip get more dangerous than what the

film led it to be?

Chris Rock:

for India to be so poor, it didn’t feel that dangerous. It was something

about the people that was just relaxing. One thing I did notice being

in India is you don’t see any women walking around at night. They’re

just off the streets because it’s dangerous.

AllHipHop.com:

Speaking of weaves, Nia you mentioned that when you wear weaves you

sometimes wear Indian hair. Did you know that so many of the Indian

women were exploited for their hair? Did that concern you at all?

Nia Long:

When I saw those scenes I was like, “Wow, we don’t get that type

of information.” It’s not like they go here’s the history of this

person’s hair. So to actually see culturally what was going on, was

kind of mind-blowing. I felt bad and a little guilty. It’s like we’re

doing this for vanity and these women are doing it as a religion sacrifice.

That’s just so extreme.

AllHipHop.com:

Did your daughters come away with feeling ok about their hair after

you did this documentary? (Since it was inspired by them.)

Chris Rock:

They haven’t seen it [entirely], they’ve seen parts of it. They’re

into their hair, to tell you the truth. They love their Afro-puffs.

AllHipHop.com:

Are you going to put a relaxer in their hair?

Chris Rock:

In my daughter’s hair? No, I mean when they’re teenagers what can

you do? I mean they’re your kids, but they’re not your kids anymore.

AllHipHop.com:

Nia, with all of the different hair that you’ve had over your career,

do you find that you move through different projects more smoothly when

your hair is more straighter?

Nia Long:

Not really. We were at the L.A. premier [of Good Hair] and we all walked

down the carpet, there were probably about eight prominent Black actresses

all around the same age and everybody had the same hair. And I immediately

took my weave out the very next day. I thought this is ridiculous, because

clearly there’s some sort of message that we’re all getting that’s

subconscious and it’s kind of in there and I was like f**k it I’m

done. Chris said the same thing when he saw me [with my natural hair.]

Chris Rock:

Now your beauty is original. Before you were like Starbucks—good coffee

but found everywhere.

Nia Long:

Now I’m like Pete’s Coffee [laughs]. Stronger and harder to find.

AllHipHop.com:

What is “good hair”?

Chris Rock:

Whatever hair makes you happy is good hair.

AllHipHop.com:

One of the things I liked about the film was that it also gave the man’s

perspective. Can you tell as a father, as an actor and a movie director

how you purged the subject from a male’s perspective?

Chris Rock:

I knew going in that as a man I had to be neutral, I couldn’t be judgmental.

If I had gone either way for or against, I’d be hated by women all

over. My preferences about hair are not important, I am a reporter and

I’m just reporting a story.

AllHipHop.com:

Did you approach the Bronner Brothers for this film? What was their

reaction?

Chris Rock:

I did approach the Bronner Borthers, yes. They were happy. They [already]

have a ton of money. This thing has been going on for sixty years and

I’m sure I’m not the first person to approach them for something

like this. They gave us so much access and they were very easy to deal

with. There wasn’t any drama.

AllHipHop.com:

Did you inform the parents who were putting perms in their daughter’s

hair at young ages the dangers of the treatment?

Chris Rock:

We kind of just reported. I mean they know it’s dangerous.

Nia Long:

It was surprising to me, as a mother, to see a three-year-old getting

her hair relaxed. When you’re living in New York or Chicago, the bigger

cities—our sophistication level and our awareness level is so much

higher. And to see that happening still in the South was like Oh My

God. I’m sure it happens in New York [too], but I think that most

women who are working in a cosmopolitan city and are strong about their

choices and out hair choices—we kind of know better. It’s funny

because one of my best girlfriend’s who has an eight-year-old daughter

said to me that she had just gotten a relaxer to put on her daughter’s

hair and after she saw the movie she decided not to use it.

AllHipHop.com:

Do you allow your son to say the term “good hair” in the archaic

way that we grew up thinking that good hair was wavy and straight and

long?

Nia Long:

He doesn’t know how to articulate what he’s feeling. But he will

say things to me like, “Mommy, why do you have a weave?” Or “What’s

that white stuff you put on your hair?” And I really had to explain

it to him. Thank God for Obama because he has an Afro and I tell him

that he needs to wear his proud.

AllHipHop.com:

Were there a lot of things that you loved about the unedited cut of

the film that you had to cut out?

Chris Rock:

Well when we started we had men too, it wasn’t just concentrated on

women. But we felt that no one cared about men’s hair. The only thing

they cared about men was how they felt about women’s hair.

AllHipHop.com:

There are a lot of women of other ethnicities who have a similar history

of wearing weaves and depending on relaxers and/or perms, did you consider

including them?

Chris Rock:

I’m Black, and I’m already skirting the line as a man shooting a

movie like this.

AllHipHop.com:

Chris can you talk about Will You Be My Black Friend? Are you

working with Oprah Winfrey on the project? What character will

you be playing?

Chris Rock:

I guess I’ll be the Black friend. There’s an article that was in

GQ about a year ago about a white guy who was getting married and

he realized that he didn’t have any Black friends. It’s embarrassing

for him and he realizes that he’s not as hip as he thought he is since

he doesn’t have any Black friends. We don’t have a script or anything,

we’re just going with the concept.

AllHipHop.com:

What was the experience like being on The Oprah Show for this

particular project?

Chris Rock:

This was the best time I’ve ever been on her show because the topic

was so big. The movie is bigger than me. Normally me and the movie are

running neck and neck. The topic is bigger than me, I almost felt like

I was in the audience.

AllHipHop.com:

Was there anyone that you wanted to be in the film that you couldn’t

get? How easy was it for everyone to talk about their hair experience?

Chris Rock:

For every person in the movie, there’s probably two or three people

that got cut. We really wanted Diana Ross, she was the only one

we made the second and third call to.

AllHipHop.com:

What is “good hair” for you?

Chris Rock:

The same hair style doesn’t work for everyone, that’s when it gets

a little murky. There’s all of these Black women walking around looking

like Jane Fonda and like Diane Cannon—that’s what

most Black girls in L.A. look like. [laughs] Whatever hair works for

you [is good]. I had the jerry curl, it didn’t work for me—it was

too drippy. [laughs].

AllHipHop.com:

Can you talk about getting funding for this project? Was it an easy

or hard sell?

Chris Rock:

It was very hard. Nobody ever wanted to make this movie. I’ve been

trying to make this movie for years. Actually I started doing the research

for this on my money. Then HBO saw I was serious, and they stepped in.

AllHipHop.com:

Did you have any feelings towards the man at near the end of the film

that said he’d rather have a White woman?

Chris Rock:

That was him; he has to be in the movie… it wasn’t only pleasant

comments made.

Nia Long:

That’s a real attitude though that exists among Black men. Just like

there are Black women who say they’d rather date White men because

they treat them better.

AllHipHop.com:

Nia, how did you get to the point in your career where you can rock

a short pixie cut and a long curly hair do switching back and forth

effortlessly?

Nia Long:

My mother. She’s strong, and she’s got tattoos on her face, and

she’s got dreads and she’s a hippie and she does not care what anyone

thinks of her. When she walks into the room she owns it, but she’s

also like very sweet. It’s not a rebellion thing, it’s just who

she is. My mother was wearing leg warmers when they were out of style

and she’s still wearing them now twenty years later, and they’re

back in style. When you grow up in a house with a mother like that you

take on some of those attitudes. Our style is totally different, but

she’s given me a true appreciation for Black women, Black beauty [and]

Black culture.

AllHipHop.com:

Are there any Black hair dos that should be kept in the back and not

make a comeback?

Chris Rock:

The jerry curl should be left behind. We’ve come a long way since

the jerry curl, and it was very hard taking it out. We actually [also]

assembled a round table of men who still had jerry curls in L.A. You

know the jerry curl is like the Black version of the Mullet and these

guys spoke about you know having to know the right place where to go

get your hair done.

AllHipHop.com:

How did you determine like where to go for research since there’s

a lot of hair that’s considered good?

Chris Rock:

The original thought, even thought I have my daughters in here, was

the hair show. So it grew from the hair show. I didn’t want to do

the historical angle with Madame CJ Walker—Soledad

[O’Brien] can do that. I wanted to do something more entertaining

and contemporary for movie theaters.

AllHipHop.com:

What do you think is more the root why it still does more economically

when people where weave to get ahead? Is it politics, professional decision

or sexual orientation?

Chris Rock:

I remember when I was putting all of that stuff in my hair. I thought

I’m famous, so this is what I was supposed to do. Before the Obamas,

the Jacksons were the first Black family and they got rid of

their Afros as soon as they started making money. So I thought whatever

the Jacksons have—that’s what you’re supposed to do.

Nia Long:

A lot of it is trends, but I think in Hollywood we have a pressure to

look a certain way. It’s also when you get on set there’s usually

a white hair stylist in the trailer who does not know how to do natural

hair. She was not trained to do natural hair. She doesn’t know how

to use a pressing comb. It’s getting easier and easier to have your

own team and people there that know how to cater to our needs. But its

definitely challenging. Like if you have a shower scene in a movie and

you have a press and curl, and then the next scene you’re supposed

to be in the park running with your hair flying in the wind—you’re

gonna have some problems and production is gonna be p##### because it’s

gonna take an hour and a half to make that switch over. That’s part

of it. But we do have to look at whether we’re trying to conform or

deny our natural beauty. You have to ask yourself that question. And

if the answer is no I just like my hair like this and I want to wear

a weave then I think it’s fine. I think it’s just a fashion choice.

AllHipHop.com:

Although you don’t say your preference in the film Chris, what do

you prefer?

Chris Rock:

I think whatever works for you. Honestly I’ve seen girls with long

hair…Amber Rose—I saw her with no hair> and you can’t

stop looking at her, right. So it’s whatever works.

Trend Report: What’s Good In Ladies Boots This Fall

Beyoncé

Get the run down on some of the hottest trends in ladies boots this fall/winter:

The ankle b#####:

Caterinia Zip B##### by Apple Bottoms

Ankle boots look great worn over leggings or skinny jeans, as well as over a pair of tights and a dress/skirt. You can bet you’ll see many fall/winter styles influenced by the rock chick look – think lots of black, details like zippers, studs, chains, etc. The black on black color looks super hot too:

The pointy toe:

Room Service by Déreon

You knew they were going to make their way back…

The pointy toe was spotted on many runways this season, such as Balenciaga, Roberto Cavalli and more. Made of faux leather with a suede inset, this tall leg-hugging lace-up boot by Déreon comes complete with a metallic heel and branded placket on front.

The Workboot:

6″ Premium Boot by Timberland

A notable men’s trend also, the workboot is on fire this fall, so it’s inevitable that one of the leaders in this this department is getting lots of love in the urban market once again – Timberland.

The classic Timbs are back with a vengeance for both men and women. Made of premium full-grain waterproof leather, these durable boots are abrasion resistant and best of all, extremely comfortable and easy to wear!

Lace them up under a pair of boot cut jeans, or rock them over skinny jeans with a “messy” look like Kanye‘s below.

Leave your laces loose and untied like Kanye for an “effortless” look

Faux Crocodile:

Croc Mifie by Rocawear

Crocodile skin is in this fall, but you can get the look without outing the poor reptilian by copping these. These fierce boots are lined with breathable fabric, and have a hidden platform in the heel for extra comfort.

The trendy flat boot:

Frances Boot by Baby Phat

To the delight of many tortured women’s feet out there, flat boots don’t need to be boring and “UGGly” this season. There is a great assortment out there (so great that I am having trouble finding the motivation to wear heels now). Details like buckles, straps, ever popular studs, and cool fabrics/finishes have jazzed up the flat boot so its not just a casual style.

The cute yet functional winter boot:

14″ Premium Fur Boot by Timberland

We had to include a real winter boot from the trusty Timberland brand once again. This winter white boot is super cute and feminine with faux fur trim and premium leather upper. Great for trudging through snow!

Make sure you take care of your boots ladies – keep them looking fresh all season!

Ladies, what styles are you rocking now?

Hip-Hop Rumors: Rappers To Sue US Gov? Hip-Hop Cop Defends Wayne?? Chuck D Talks More Gucci Mane!

THE DAILY TWO SENSE

F**K NEW YORK!!!

Just kidding! I said that instead of saying “The Daily Two Sense.” Why? Well, I want people to pull it together for a minute. From my understanding, OJ DA JUICEMAN was performing in front of a crowd from the CMJ Convention. CMJ isn’t exactly the best crowd for OJ to rock in front of. Its no really a NY thing, I’ve been told. It is probably like Canibus going to perform at Birthday Bash in Atlanta. Not sure, but I think its safe to say, he’s not going to get a standing ovation. I think the CMJ crowd is pretty undergroun Hip-Hop.

Don’t let something like THAT divide Hip-Hop, please. OJ was just in NJ and got all sorts of love at a sold out show. That crowd was just different.

RAPPERS AND MUSICIANS TO SUE THE GOVERNMENT?

Now, this is a rumor of a different sort, but check it out, because it is actually dead up serious. I am hearing that a group of musicians are getting together to sue the American Government. Why? Because the government has used popular music to torture detainees at Guantanamo Bay. From what I get is that the artists are getting a full list of the songs via the Freedom of Information Act. These groups suing reportedly include Eminem, Rage Against the Maching and even The Roots. I heard all of these acts are very upset that their music was used in “crimes against humanity.” From what I hear, they are having some difficulty getting the names of the songs as the basis for the legal bout.

Anyway, Guantanamo Bay might be closed in the near future. Obama is moving closer to closing it, but is running into numerous problems.

HIP-HOP COP LIKES LIL WAYNE?

I am not trying to be funny, I promise. But, it is my understanding that the original Hip-Hop Cop went to bat for Lil Wayne and tried to get him off on this gun charge. You better believe these charges are bogus. Yeah, I said it, “THESE CHARGES ARE BOGUS AGAINST LIL WAYNE.” Lil Wayne is basically a fall guy, because he is the biggest name in the van. On top of that, I am hearing that these dudes were totally profiled and there was no real reason for the cops to pull them over in the first place. On the flip side, what was in the van was in the van. Nevertheless, Wayne is going down for a gun that’s not his.

MEMPHIS BLEEK TIRED OF BEING JAY-Z’s SHADOW

Bleek recently caught up with Radio Host Kendra G and talked about how as a man it’s important that he proves himself as a rapper and not just Jay-Z’s sidekick. Check out the interview to here Memphis Bleek break it down.

CHUCK D CLARIFIES ON GUCCI MANE STATEMENT

As you know, Chuck D is one of the most respected Hip-Hoppers out there! He took a position after Gucci Mane made some statements about Jay-Z being the hottest rapper/

This is the original statement from AHH NEWS:

“Jay-Z’s just getting started. Gucci Mane, he’d be better off jumping in a swimming pool with a plugged in toaster.”

And here is what he meant, if anybody took him 100% seriously.

Of course metaphorically speaking, rather than going head to head rhyming against JAY-Z

“Its my outside third party opinion. Gucci Mane can probably raps circles around my old ass …but er…not JAY-Z. Sorry. I’m pretty sure Gucci Mane a fine young man, but as far as getting in the ring with JAY-Z in any RAP way…I don’t see it. Nothing personal. But

er… NO.”

“Well, I’m sure that GUCCI MANE is still looking for JAY-Z to respond. It’s what he wanted. He should.”

Again that’s the up and coming challenger throwing a egg at Floyd Mayweather. I’m just a fan of it all in the seats. GUCCI MANE is fun and all but… JAY-Z is a martial artist with this s**t.

Love the modesty from Chuck D.

TLC STRAPPED UP, PULL OUT ON CLIVE DAVIS!

I got this from my home girl, Miss Mouth. Its not new, but I missed it.

“I was laughing when T-boz told Monique that TLC took loaded guns into Arista offices and held Clive Davis hostage for playing with their money. Apparently, they were having a business meeting, with Puffy in attendance, when TLC bum rushed the office kicked Puff out and got gully…….T-boz said that Diddy called the po po on them. It was funny as hell when Monique told Diddy to “mind his dayum business…”

T-Boz straight called Diddy a snitch! LMAO!

ILLSEED’S QUICKIES

It looks like the East / South tensions are about to start up again, all because OJ Da Juice Man got boo’d! Aw man….that’s wack!

For some reason, Jody Breeze didn’t show up to AllHipHop Radio yesterday. Well, Chuck D of Public Enemy did. You already know what happened.

Get a job!!!!!!!!

I heard Bang ‘em Smurf is working on a documentary about his life.

Pharrell showed up to the Jay show in Michigan-that other thing was a miscommunication.

I have run into a lot of people that feel like Rihanna is a Devil worshipper. I don’t know, but she sure is going ALL OUT on her new song.

Props to Paula Patton & Robin Thicke on expecting their first child.

This is random. Amy Winehouse is reportedly dating George Foreman’s son…George III.

Here is OJ getting boo’d.

SHOUT OUT TO JASIRI X

Heyyyyy…what do we have here? A rapper talking about a lil’ something! Don’t complain! They are out there!

Don’t front on the skills!

EPIC WIN OF THE DAY

Don’t fall asleep at the barber’s chair.

EPIC FAIL OF THE DAY

Officer Riviery: DUDE YOU ARE A JERK!!!!!! This cop is clearly a fat, short wearing, black shoe having jag-off! LOL…seriously, this video is pushing two years old, but…the last two seconds are classsssssic!

SIGNS THE WORLD IS COMING TO AN END

Winning the lottery is a big deal for anybody! But what happens when somebody jacks somebody, that’s a big deal too. Willis Willis (nice name) purchased several Mega Millions Lottery tickets from a convenience store. He came back to see if he won and the clerk told him he won $2. The clerk, Pankaj Joshi, lied and then took the winning ticket to the Texas Lottery Commission in Austin. The ticket was worth $1,000,008 and Joshi took home $750,000 dollars after taxes. Johi’s hatin’ a** co-workers dimed him out after hearing he won the lottery. But they did the right thing, because 1) Willis is an elderly man and 2) it was stolen in the first place. But they did hate. LOL! Joshi is now on the runnnnnn – lmao! The cops got about half of the stolen money.

I’M SORRY, BUT THIS IS BETTER THAN DORROUGH’S VERSION

LOL! Shout out to the The Cataracs.

Tiny Cottle: Life Tips From Tiny

Even as she referees a bunch of screaming kids in the background, Tameka ‘Tiny’ Cottle manages to keep a cool head while doing phone interviews back to back. The newly inducted reality show star is celebrating the success of “Tiny & Toya,” which is BET’s top-rated show in history. The breakout phenom garnered her and best friend/co-star, Antonia ‘Toya’ Carter, a second season, which they’re in the process of filming now. Tiny took some time out to talk about her unbreakable relationship with T.I., addresses rumors about the show being the idea of Joy Bounds (mother of R&B singer Lyfe Jennings’ two sons), and possibility sneaking her wedding nuptials a la Jay Z and Beyonce.

AllHipHop.com: Congratulations on the 2nd season of Tiny & Toya. Were you surprised at the huge response to the show?

Tameka ‘Tiny’ Cottle: I was surprised. The show broke all kinds of records. I felt the show was good, but I never knew it was going to be as big as it turned out to be. I worried that it didn’t have a whole lot of drama. And I know drama is what people like in the shows normally and I felt like our show was a little different. I was a little worried about that. I was like ‘Whoa, how we gon’ stay afloat?’ But ultimately, it turned out to go in a positive direction. It seem like people responded to the show because it was so positive. It seemed to help a lot of younger girls and I’m really excited about that. They reach out to me and Toya and tell us how our stories really touched them and how it changed their life. You can’t want anymore than that.

AllHipHop.com: The blogs are buzzing about Joy Bounds saying she created the concept for the show and that she was kicked off by Toya. Can you clear the air on this rumor?

Tiny: First of all, I came up with the show. It was my idea. And second of all, we were talking about doing a talk show. And we went to Jay (James DuBose). He was the one who came up with doing the reality show. And I really didn’t want to do that because I didn’t want it to be negative but he said he’ll make the sure the show won’t come out that way. Him and Joy fell out and she expected us to leave the situation. But the show is us, me and Toya. For her to say it’s hers, that she created it – my dad’s Alzheimer’s, and Toya’s mom on drugs and Tip going to jail – that’s our life. It’s not made up. You can’t take credit for somebody’s real life. It just don’t make sense. It’s just too much. I think she just wants attention. If she had a real real issue why is she just going at Toya? It’s Tiny and Toya. It’s evident that she’s upset because she’s the one that introduced us.

AllHipHop.com: So this is personal, not business?

Tiny: It’s personal. It’s evident that she’s a little bit upset. Toya’s moved on and Joy’s not doing anything. Toya’s bettering herself; she got a lot of stuff going on and Joy’s behind. She can’t take credit for Toya’s mama on drugs and her trying to help her get off of it. How can you? You can’t.

AllHipHop.com: What can we expect to see from the show this season?

Tiny: This season me and my partner Keisha trying to get a label deal for OMG Girls and me and Toya got a clothing line coming out. We got a lot of things in the works. It’s really about what we’re doing now. The second season has evolved from the first with us being more workingwomen. It’ll also be some family stuff.

AllHipHop.com: You faced some personal challenges in the first season. What have you learned about Tameka that has made you a better woman?

Tiny: Well, I’ve learned that I can do anything I put my mind to. If I really wanna do something I have to stop procrastinating and don’t be lazy about it and just focus. I can overcome the procrastination and make something happen. I also learned that it’s a lot of other things that I want to do that I can do that I haven’t done, I kept myself away from. With the music I kind of kept myself away from it and now I’m able to come back into the business with my daughter and OMG. I just wanna give them what I had and more.

AllHipHop.com: Are you still planning to wed once T.I. gets out?

Tiny:Definitely. I don’t plan on going anywhere. I just haven’t figured out when yet. We will sometime, but the date, I don’t have yet. But it’s gonna happen.

AllHipHop.com: Are you planning on sneaking and getting married like Jay Z and Beyonce?

Tiny: No, that’s not my plan. But I’m not sure. I can’t say because it may come out that way. We haven’t done a lot of planning so we might just wanna get married real real soon. But I wanna wait until he gets home anyway before I make any plans.

AllHipHop.com: What can people learn from you and T.I.’s relationship and commitment to each other that will help black families stay together?

Tiny: Stay strong for one another. Whatever he’s going through I got his back. I’mma be the strongest woman I can be to hold him down. Because me being weak is gonna make him weaker and vice versa. And we got a lot of love for each other. He’s my best friend. I don’t know what it is that draws us so much to each other but it’s just there.

AllHipHop.com: When you’re best friends you learn the good and bad stuff about each other. Like Chris Rock said, you got to love the crust of a person…

Tiny: That’s what makes a relationship really strong. When you know what you like and what you don’t like about a person and learn to love it anyway. People think if I could change this, if I could change that, but what about all the great things that you love. You got to learn to love everything about each other.

AllHipHop.com: Do people quit to soon in a relationship?

Tiny: I can’t say. If you see something that you don’t like or you can’t live with, it might be a reason that you should break up because I know a lot of time wasted is unnecessary. But I know the longer we lived together the more it helped us to learn more about each other. So now we know everything. I know everything I don’t like and everything I like. I know everything. I love it. I accept it. And it’ll make the marriage stronger, hopefully. I’ll let you know when I get there. (laughs)

AllHipHop.com: Reality shows tend to be relationship killers. How will you and Tip avoid its kiss of death?

Tiny: Well, reality shows tend to be relationship killers when they do them together. I always felt like I didn’t wanna do that because the relationships don’t ever last. With my show now, it doesn’t hinder us at all because he’s away. Now if he was here with the kids and I’m working on the reality show it might be kind of difficult because we’re so used to being together and spending all of our time together. He’s used to having me all of the time and it’s been about him and the kids.

AllHipHop.com: So that’s gonna change especially if the OMG Girls take off.

Tiny: Exactly. But he’s all about the OMG Girls too. He helps out as much as he can, giving advice, that kind of thing. He wants the girls to do good. So, it’ll all work out.

Poll: Will Lil’ Wayne’s Street Cred Grow With A Jail Bid?

Lil Wayne is already the hottest thing in Hip-Hop and for the past few years he has only gotten more and more popular. Now the rapper has plead guilty to gun charges associated with a 2007 arrest.

While he has yet to be sentenced, insiders speculate he will serve about eight to 12 months over the conviction. The rapper managed to dodge a potentially lengthy prison term by submitting to the terms of the deal.

Clearly, this is not the optimal way to further one’s career, but could there be an upside to this seemingly bad situation?

The streets and internet have posed the question: will jail increase the already popular rapper’s street cred after doing a stint in a New York City jail?

Take the poll and weigh in.

Wayne’s Ex Toya Tells Fans To Pray For Rapper

It has been almost twelve hours since Lil’ Wayne accepted a plea deal in a New York weapons case, and an official statement has yet-to-be issued from Cash Money Records or even his Young Money roster.

While some celebrities including Jim Jones and Wayne’s ex-wife Toya Carter took to twitter to express their outrage over the one year sentence which came along with the New Orleans’ rapper guilty plea, his labelmates and protégés where noticeably quiet.

Nonetheless, Wayne and his impending jail sentence remained the topic of much conversation among fans and celebs alike today.

Some, who had forgotten about the 2007 incident that lead to the rapper’s charges of attempted weapons possession, reacted with a bit of surprise. Others pondered how the one year bid will affect his career or even trademark dreadlocks.

And some even asked why we should be outraged at the sentence, since Wayne owned up to having done the crime. Still others, including Slim Thug, took to Twitter to point to a greater social issue represented by New York authorities’ approach to the high profile case.

“That’s some bulls**t how the police try to make an example out of [Black] celebs,” the Houston rapper tweeted. “Lil Wayne wasn’t holding the gun; they got on his bus, didn’t even know which one he was; after they found him they gave him the case. It’s Lil’ Wayne if he is on the bus somebody needs to have a gun his lil ass can’t fight a muthaf***a off. Cortez, Lil’ Wayne manager, said on [VH1’s] Behind the Music that that’s his gun. It’s in his name [but] they still gave Wayne the case.

“OJ in jail for tryna get his own s### back,” Slim Thug continued. “Plaxico got 3 yrs for shooting himself, Vick got 2yrs and lost all his money for fighting dogs. If any of these people wasn’t successful black men they would not be in trouble or facing that big of a sentence. I know y’all might like dogs, but no dog is worth 100 million I been to dog fights saw people get caught and get rt out (noncelebs).”

Though the general attitude within the Hip-Hop community seems to be one of support for Lil’ Wayne, the single comment issued by budding BET reality star Antonia “Toya” Carter, would seem to indicate that perhaps Wayne has not received the level of support those close to him might have expected.

“I swear I hate fake n***as,” she tweeted minutes after news of the verdict spread across the internet. “When s**t all good, everybody around, but when u down, nobody wants to b around… pray for Wayne y’all.”

By the close of the day, much Lil Wayne chatter had turned to the release of two new tracks slated to appear on Wayne’s next mixtape No Ceilings.

Both untitled songs are freestyles, one using F.L.Y.’s “Swag Surfin'” instrumental, and the other borrowing Gucci Mane’s latest single, “Wasted.”

No Ceiling will be released as a free download on October 31.
