(AllHipHop News) Canadian rapper Drake has come forward to clear his name in regards to a group of phony booking agents and false promoters, who continue to use his name for financial gain.

 The latest string of fake bookings were concentrated in the south. In all instances, the individuals have misrepresented themselves as Drake’s manager in order to secure and then pockets deposits for the phony shows.

“It has been brought to my attention that false promoters and booking agents are illegally using my name and likeness to promote concerts and club appearances for their own financial gain,” Drake told AllHipHop.com in a statement today (February 18).

“It is frustrating for me to hear that many of my fans, who like myself are innocent victims in these scams, have been misled due to the greed of these promoters,” Drake stated. “I apologize to any fan that has been a victim of these circumstances or feels let down by false advertising.”

Drake is co-managed by Bryant Management and HipHopSince1978. His bookings are handled by International Creative Management (ICM).

In November 2009, it was revealed that an imposter was utilizing Twitter and Gmail to secure deposits by posing as Cortez Bryant, the CEO of Bryant Management.

That individual was never apprehended.

“Please be assured that my team and I take these matters seriously and are actively cooperating with authorities. I cannot thank my fans enough for supporting my music and all that I do,” Drake stated.

(AllHipHop News) Rapper/actor Romeo has announced plans to host a free concert at Six Flags Magic Mountain in order to collect books for schools being rebuilt for students in Haiti.

Romeo and The College Boyys have teamed with I Heart Haiti Kids and Six Flags Friends, the philanthropic arm of Six Flags for the concert. Fans can bring 2 books to Six Flags Magic Mountain, which is located in Los Angeles.

In addition to receiving discounted admission to the theme park, Romeo, The College Boyys, Kyla Pratt and others will perform at the theme park.

“We are focusing on the importance of education and helping devastated Haiti kids through their recovery process to receive a basic education,” Romeo told AllHipHop.com. “In the U.S., a basic education is a necessity but in poor countries like Haiti, it’s a luxury. Every kid, no matter how poor, deserves a basic education. Our mission is to give Haiti kids a chance at a good start. By our team effort and our kids getting involved and doing their part, we are touching the hearts of a nation of kids that have lost so much.”

Romeo stated he realized it was a challenging, time consuming process, but he would continue to campaign and call on his celebrity friends to assist him in rebuilding schools throughout Haiti.

“By donating and recycling books we are giving Haiti kids the opportunity to read, stimulate their imagination, hope, and dream, envision, and prepare for their future,” Romeo noted. “I’m also reaching out to my other celebrity friends such as Jaden Smith, Miley Cyrus, Justin Beiber, Keke Palmer, Jonas Brothers, and Nick Cannon to help join in on this movement.”

Romeo’s free concert at Six Flags Magic Mountain takes place on Saturday, February 27.

(AllHipHop News) Rap pioneer and human beat boxer Biz Markie has signed on for the Hip Hop Caucus Clean Energy Now! Bus tour, which kicks off today (February 18) in New Orleans.

The Hip Hop Caucus teamed with The Alliance for Climate Protection’s Repower America campaign to coordinate the tour, which will also feature appearances by D. Woods, actress Gloria Reuben and EPA Administrator, Lisa Jackson.

The tour’s goal is to further encourage various urban communities to call on local politicians to support a clean energy economy.

The tour, which also includes round tables on college campuses and community rallies, will make stop sin Little Rock, Columbia, Missouri, Washington DC and other markets.

“The Hip Hop Caucus Clean Energy Now! Tour will amplify and unite the voices of young people, African Americans, the Hip Hop community, and the faith community, around the critical need for clean energy jobs now and a clean energy future for our country,” said Rev. Lennox Yearwood, Jr., President of the Hip Hop Caucus. “We are excited to work with the Alliance for Climate Protection and numerous national and local partners on this historic effort. We anticipate this tour will go a long way to educate and mobilize communities for a brighter future through policy that will reduce poverty and pollution at the same time.”

According to studies, investments into clean energy could produce up to as many as 1.9 million new jobs, in addition to lowering energy bills for low income families, as well as pollution.

“The clean energy choices we make today will have a profound impact on the environment of our young people and communities of color — the very people this tour is bringing together and the voices we need to hear,” said EPA Administrator Lisa P. (AllHipHop News) Tonight (February 18), a number of rappers, executives and music industry figures will gather in New York to officially launch a new joint venture between Raekwon’s ICE H20 record label and rap group Capone-N-Noreaga (CNN).

CNN are officially signed to Raekwon’s label and will drop their new album War Report 2, the follow up to 1997’s first installment, The War Report.

“We going 50/50 on this next venture with Rae and them,” Noreaga told AllHipHop.com. “Salute, we having fun bringing real music back to life.”

Jadakiss, Beanie Sigel, Ice-T-, Wu-Tang Clan, Ice-T and Coco and a number of others are expected to attend the event, which is hosted by Shade 45 radio personality Angela Yee with music provided by 105.1’s DJ Envy. Raekwon will executive produce

War Report 2 for Ice H20, the same label that independently released his critically acclaimed album Only Built For Cuban Linx II, which was distributed by EMI.

“When I did The War Report, I didn’t know I was making a classic,” Noreaga said of the pressure to craft a follow-up to the original release. “So now this is harder, because it’s like I wanna beat The War Report.”

(AllHipHop News) Accusations of racism have been hurled at Jay-Z after reports circulated that his security banned Caucasians from the VIP section of his Brit Awards afterparty.

The superstar emcee held his party at London’s Merah nightclub after taking home honors for Best International Male Solo, off the platinum success of Blueprint 3.

According to various reports, the planned celebratory night was mired by constant fights prompted by overzealous fans pushing and shoving in vain attempts to get to Jay.

Kim Dawson, a reporter for the UK’s Daily Star, alleges that black people were allowed free access to the VIP area without scrutiny, while any white attendee was immediately shunned.

“I’ve been to countless showbiz bashes but never have I met meatheads like those at the Jay-Z do [party]. Jay-Z is a megastar and yet it was clear white people were not welcome in his VIP area,” Dawson stated. “While the red rope was lifted for black guests to breeze through, let’s just say it stayed down if your face didn’t fit. I have never felt so intimidated. It left me feeling like a mauled dog.”

Alesha Dixon, a black pop star, declined to level criticism at Jay-Z or verify the racism claim. Instead, she expressed shock at how badly the event was structured considering the star level.

“My friends have been getting knocked about and no one seems to care. I need to get out of here,” Dixon explained to Daily Star. “What a horrible end to the night. I was having a blast at my record label party and now the mood is soured. I wish I’d never come.”

At press time, representatives for Jay-Z have said the party’s security was from the Merah establishment, not the mogul’s personal entourage.
