22-year-old Orange County, NY rapper Dylan Owen‘s “The Best Fears of Our Lives” captures a perfect balance of descriptive storytelling and rhyme skills. “The so-called best years of our lives, the time during our late teen years and early twenties, isn’t a reality for many people,” Dylan Owen explains. “I talk through the various realities that are striking me currently and during these foundational years: a childhood friend passing away, old flames that never went anywhere, friends who left me to move to Los Angeles, and my grandfather being sick.”
Premiered by EARMILK, “The Best Fears of Our Lives” was produced by Skinny Atlas, whose credits include Tech N9ne, Krizz Kaliko, and Tank. It’s the latest release from Dylan Owen’s forthcoming There’s More To Life EP. The project’s first two singles, “Everything Gets Old” and “Sail Up the Sun,” have accumulated nearly 150K combined SoundCloud plays.
