Call it a comeback. Rap vet and battle expert, LL Cool J’s tenth LP will be called “Ten.” While there is no definite release date, the VA production team The Neptunes have produced 4 songs on “Ten” with The Trackmasters, Amen Ra and former rap star Kuame producing as well.
The first preliminary street single, “10 Million Stars,” was produced by Kuame and is getting airplay in nationwide already. The first official single, “Love You Better,” is going to be produced by The Neptunes and, sources say, LL is trying to get Usher to sing the hook.
Surprisingly, the will contain no cursing, yet, has LL returning to his hungry roots in rap. On MTV.com, Pharrell of the Neptunes said, “[LL’s] hungry, man. He made a very interesting statement. He thought that by saying [he was] ‘the greatest of all time,’ he felt like God sort of penalized him, because God is the greatest of all time. God lashed out at him like, ‘Listen, don’t do that.’ Although [G.O.A.T.] went platinum, ‘Don’t do that.’ He’s so hungry and humble.”
