Kia Shine has replied to comments Drake made on his blog regarding ownership of Drake’s#### song “Best I Ever Had.” Kia Shine was spotted at the BMI Awards holding plaques for his involvement in the song’s creation, which utilizes a sample from an earlier record Kia Shine produced for Lil Wayne titled “Do It for the Boy.” Drake denied ever meeting Kia Shine, but admitted to sampling a line from the Kia Shine -produced Lil Wayne song. Drake also denied that Kia Shine owned up to 25% of the song and labeled the public discussion of publishing royalities as “distasteful.” “First of all, no one is bragging about it,” Kia Shine told Angela Yee during an interview on Lip Service radio show. “Once I got the BMI award and it happened and it started to get out. I’m just giving the information about what happened…it’s been quiet. I’ve known about this since January.”
