Amina Buddafly revealed that she and her daughters are without a permanent home after losing their Los Angeles residence and fleeing to Germany to stay with family.
The revelation prompted a public response from Peter Gunz, who says he’s still financially supporting them.
The former Love & Hip Hop: New York star took to Instagram to share an emotional update about her living situation.
“Day one, waking up in Germany after losing our home in LA. We don’t have a home, y’all. Thank God for family, because we’re in Germany with my family. We’re going to be here ’til I figure it out. I will, as I always do. The last couple of years have been so rough,” Amina Buddafly said.
Buddafly, who shares two daughters with Gunz, added that she parted ways with most of her belongings before leaving the U.S.
“I threw my whole life in the trash. 80% of what we owned, and I didn’t own anything valuable anyway, to begin with,” she said. “It feels good to not have much but have what’s important, which is love.”
The post quickly gained traction, prompting Peter Gunz to respond via Instagram Live. The Bronx rapper said he’s still involved in their lives and claimed he offered Buddafly his apartment in Dallas, which she turned down.
“I have an apartment in Dallas. I said, ‘Amina, just go stay in Dallas. Right? [She said] ‘What am I going to do in Dallas?’ Live rent-free? Swim? Chill for a little bit; give me a breather because I can’t pay rent at multiple places.”
Peter Gunz didn’t deny that Buddafly is currently staying in Germany but emphasized that he continues to provide for their children. The rapper said he felt betrayed because he never stopped sending her money and that she was not literally homeless.
“I send Amina thousands every month. She will get on here and tell you, too. It’s just that she wasn’t able to hold her side of the s### up. So I let her go, but I had no idea that she was going to leave the world, thinking that she was homeless. I bought her a round-trip ticket. They come back on the 23rd of August. I got the Airbnb in LA. I was going to pay that up for a couple of months. Why tell the world? I feel a little betrayed, in a way, because she knows I would never, that could never be me. It makes me look crazy. Saying on there, ‘Thank God for my family in Germany.’ I’m the only one that was giving her money monthly.”
Peter Gunz and Amina Buddafly had a turbulent relationship, to put it mildly and their drama played out for years on VH1’s Love & Hip Hop franchise.
While Buddafly has not responded to Peter Gunz’s latest remarks, her original post made it clear she’s focused on rebuilding.
She did not specify how long she plans to remain in Germany or what her next steps will be.
