A Philadelphia
judge has authorized rapper Beanie Sigel’s release from a federal prison yesterday,
to receive in-patient drug counseling and anger management treatment.
The judge released
Sigel for 28 days and told attorney’s that the name and location of the treatment
facility Sigel must be kept secret.
In order to be
released for the drug counseling and anger management program, Sigel was ordered
to put up $150,000 in cash and 5 properties worth a total value of $400,000.
The cash and properties
were collateral to ensure Sigel doesn’t flee the program.
Sigel’s lawyers
attempted to have him released on bail, a request the judge denied. The judge
ruled yesterday that if Sigel successfully completes the program he will reconsider
the bail request.
Sigel is awaiting
trial for attempted murder, after he allegedly shot a Philadelphia man in the
stomach and foot in July after an altercation.
