A number of rappers and R&B artists are headlining an exclusive five-city concert series sponsored by The Recording Academy (Grammy’s) and T-Mobile USA, to celebrate the Grammy’s 50th Anniversary.
Busta Rhymes, Missy Elliott, Kid Rock, Pitbull, John Legend and Sean Kingston will headline concerts featuring Cat Power, Colbie Caillat, Kat Deluna, Ozomatli and Seal in a five-date tour that includes stops in Chicago, New York, Miami, Dallas and Los Angeles.
The starts in Chicago tonight (April 3) with singers/songwriters Cat Power, Colbie Caillat and John Legend performing at the Vic Theatre.
Rappers Busta Rhymes and Missy Elliott will headline a concert at Webster Hall on April 9, while Latin artists Kat Deluna, Ozomatli and Pitbull hit the Fillmore Miami Beach at the Jackie Gleason Theatre in Miami.
On April 23, Kid Rock headlines at the Granada Theatre in Dallas on April 23, while Seal and R&B singer Sean Kingston close out the series at the Avalon in Hollywood.
“With this fantastic program, not only does The Recording Academy provide music fans an opportunity to help celebrate our 50th Anniversary, it also pays tribute to some of the artists that have played an important role in the Grammy Awards’ meaningful history and gives rising stars a chance to be a part of that legacy,” said Evan Greene, Chief Marketing Officer of The Recording Academy.
A limited number of tickets are being offered through special, in-store sweepstakes at select T-Mobile retail locations in the five concert cities.
