Celebrity blogger Perez Hilton will be one of several contestants taking place in MTV’s new Hip-Hop themed show, “Celebrity Rap Superstar.”
Hilton will take part in the new, live competition series that features the celebrities being mentored by some of Hip-Hop’s biggest stars, as they are “transformed into skillful lyricists.”
The weekly series will pair eight contestants with one superstar Hip-Hop mentor, who shares the techniques they’ve used to master rapping.
Celebrity mentors include West coast legends Warren G. and Tone Loc, Houston’s Paul Wall and others notable rappers.
The contestants, who will come from the TV, film, music and sports world, will perform covers of some of the top rap songs, compete in freestyle battles and create their own original rap songs.
Each week the viewing audience will cote for their favorite contestant. The person with the least amount of votes will be eliminated until the best rapper is selected.
“Celebrity Rap Superstars” debuts August 30 at 10:00 PM ET on MTV.
