Common To Host First-Ever Furniture Design Competition Show

THE CHICAGO MC WILL BE HOSTING A REALITY SERIES

Common has made a successful transition from hip-hop to the big screen and now he has snagged a gig on the small screen.

Indiewire reports that Common is taking his hosting talents to Spike TV for the first-ever furniture design competition. The reality series entitled Framework will feature 13 aspiring furniture makers who will compete for $100,000 and the chance to have their furnishings sold by a major furniture manufacturer.

A synopsis of the show says Common has a sense of style that makes him an ideal host and judge for the competition.

“Throughout his career as an artist, Common has been on the cutting edge of trends and brings his keen eye for style and understanding of consumer desire to the competition.”

Spike TV says the contestants will “work with unconventional materials and will be asked to rethink classic deigns and demonstrate their creativity.”

The rapper/actor will also be sitting on the panel of judges that will eliminate one contestant each week.

The series premieres on Jan. 6th.
