Mississippi rapper David Banner has resigned from the Rock the Bells North American Festival, due to “creative and promotional differences” with the festival organizers, a representative for the rapper told AllHipHop.com

 

The tour kicked off July 26 in Boston, Massachusetts and is slated to wind down September 1 in Honolulu, Hawaii.

 

Banner’s cancellation will effect 12 stops on the tour, including tonight’s performance (August 2) in Atlanta, GA, in addition to dates in Miami (August 4), Dallas (August 7), Houston (August 8), San Bernardino (August 11), San Diego (August 12), San Francisco (August 18), Salt Lake City (August 21), Denver (August 22), Minneapolis (August 25), Chicago (August 26) and Detroit (August 29).

 

Rock The Bells is an annual concert/festival which launched in 2003.

 

Other performers on the 2007 Rock The Bells North American Festival include Rage Against The Machine, Nas, The Roots, EPMD, Wu-Tang Clan, Cypress Hill, Rakim, UGK, Mos Def, Talib Kweli, Pharoahe Monch, Slum Village, Boot Camp Clik and numerous other acts.

 

The announcement comes as David Banner prepares his upcoming album Greatest Story Ever Told, which is due in stores October 9.

 

The album features guest appearances from Lil’ Wayne, Akon, Snoop Dogg, Chris Brown and others.
