Del the Funky Homosapien is doing his part to make sure his fans stay economically sound, with the free release of his 14th album, Funk Man: The Stimulus Package.
The veteran Oakland rapper’s album was released today (April 29) on Funnyman Entertainment, as an experimental distribution strategy.
Del secured sponsorship deals with Skull Candy, Arnette, Osiris Shoes and Bandcamp.com in order to release The Stimulus Package.
The release comes just one year after the release of Del’s album Eleventh Hour.
According to Del, he has shed “negativity’ that has plagued him in the past, which prevented him from releasing a solo album for almost six years.
“It’s okay to be who you are,” Del said. “You can be free. So what if people are taking about you, they’re going to be talking about you anyway and they probably want to be you. They wish they could by funky, let their hair grow out, be like you.”
Del the Funky Homosapien is currently on tour in support of Funk Man: The Stimulus Package.
