Diddy will not attend the 2024 Grammy Awards in February. A rep for the Bad Boy Records founder told The Hollywood Reporter he’s skipping the ceremony while facing multiple allegations of sexual assault.
The Hip-Hop mogul was nominated for Best Progressive R&B Album for 2023’s The Love Album: Off the Grid. The Grammys have not revoked his nomination.
Several women accused Diddy of sexual assault in late 2023. It started with his ex-girlfriend Cassie, who sued him for rape and years of abuse in November. The bombshell lawsuit revealed disturbing details about their relationship, including Diddy beating Cassie and forcing her to have sex with male prostitutes.
Diddy quickly settled out of court. Cassie said she agreed to the settlement to resolve the matter with “some level of control.”
Cassie’s lawsuit opened the floodgates as more women pursued litigation against Diddy. Joi Dickerson-Neal claimed Diddy sexually assaulted her when she was a student at Syracuse University in the ‘90s. Liza Gardner accused him and singer Aaron Hall of sexually assaulting her and a friend at Hall’s apartment in the ‘90s.
A Jane Doe added to Diddy’s legal woes by filing a lawsuit in December. She accused Diddy of gang rape and sex trafficking. The victim said she was 17 years old at the time of the assault.
Diddy denied the allegations.
“ENOUGH IS ENOUGH,” he wrote in December. “For the last couple of weeks, I have sat silently and watched people try to assassinate my character, destroy my reputation and my legacy. Sickening allegations have been made against me by individuals looking for a quick payday. Let me be absolutely clear: I did not do any of the awful things being alleged. I will fight for my name, my family and for the truth.”
Jane Doe’s lawsuit named former Bad Boy Records president Harve Pierre as a co-defendant. Last year, another woman sued Pierre for sexual assault in a separate case.
