(AllHipHop News) Hip-Hop mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs will be one of several rap heavy weights attending a black-tie benefit in Philadelphia this weekend to raise funds and toys for the homeless and financially challenged this holiday season. The rap star will be joined by comedian Jamie Foxx, Vivica A. Fox, Lance Gross, Jermaine Dupri and others, as part of the first annual Joy to the World Festival taking place from December 16th-19th. Combs will attend the Joy to the World black-tie gala at the swanky Ritz-Carlton as part of the weekend, which also includes a toy drive, fundraisers and a celebrity bowling event featuring Fabolous, Eagles’ star DeSean Jackson, Melyssa Ford and others. The weekend was founded by Tyrone L. Gilliams Jr., a UPenn graduate and ordained minister. “From a social standpoint, the needs are greater now than they have been in my lifetime,” said Gilliams, who grew up between Camden, New Jersey and the North Philadelphia. “I’ve done things, helped people, all my life. But I was moved to take it to the masses. Giving is not a week-to-week or season-to-season thing. It’s a lifestyle,” he said. “What we’re trying to establish, through this event and others that will soon come, is a giving mentality. Then the idea becomes a movement. And a movement is what we need right now.”Combs will be joined by State Senator Anthony Hardy Williams and Philadelphia’s Mayor Michael N#####, who will speak at the Joy to the World fundraiser, along with Gilliams. For more information visit: http://www.joytotheworldfest.com.
