Terror Squad member DJ Khaled has signed a partnership between his label, We The Best Music, and Def Jam Records, Island Def Jam Music Group Antonio “L.A.” Reid announced today (February 13).The new label venture is named after DJ Khaled’s second album, We The Best, which hit #1 on Billboard’s independent albums chart.The album produced two hit singles, “We Takin’ Over,” which features Akon, T.I., Rick Ross, Fat Joe, Birdman & Lil’ Wayne and “I’m So Hood,” which features T-Pain, Trick Daddy, Plies & Rick Ross.”I’m proud to be a member of the Def Jam family,” DJ Khaled said. “Def Jam has been and still is one of the most important institutions in Hip-Hop and music as a whole. I am extremely honored and excited to be a partner with them in We The Best Music.”DJ Khaled will continue to manage production team The Runners and executive produce releases from members of Fat Joe’s Terror Squad, while rapper Ace will be the first artist released on his We The Best Music/Def Jam label.
