Rapper DMX showed up to court an hour late today (May 15), where he entered a not guilty plea to an assortment of felony drug charges.
DMX was supposed to appear in front of Maricopa County Superior Court Commissioner Lisa VandenBerg at 8:30 am, but didn’t appear in court until 9:30 am, for unknown reasons.
The rapper’s Cave Creek, Arizona home was raided on May 9, after a seven month investigation into animal cruelty charges.
The charges stem from an August 2007 raid of the rapper’s property, where officials seized 12 malnourished dogs on the rapper’s property.
According to reports, DMX, born Earl Simmons was arraigned on two counts of marijuana possession and one for drug paraphernalia.
Although he charged with a misdemeanor count for animal cruelty, he was not arraigned on that charge today.
In November of 2005, the rapper was sentenced to ten extra days in prison because he was almost two hours late to court, when he was sentenced to 70 days in jail for violating the terms of his probation.
DMX is due back in court on July 2.
