(AllHipHop News) Drake is asking a judge to dismiss a lawsuit filed by producer Detail over a beating he allegedly suffered at the hands of the rapper’s bodyguard in 2014.
Detail, real name Noel Fisher, launched legal action against the “Hotline Bling” star in June, claiming Drake set him up by inviting him to his Calabasas, California property, only to have a security official, named Chubbs, allegedly attack the visitor.
The beatmaker claimed his jaw was broken in the reported bust up and required multiple surgeries, while he suggested the incident was revenge for Fisher turning down an earlier offer to executive produce Drake’s music, which would have tied him in to an exclusive deal.
He demanded unspecified damages for the assault case, including funds to cover his medical bills.
Drake has now hit back at Fisher, insisting he had nothing to do with the altercation.
In new court papers obtained by DailyMail.com, the Canadian artist accuses Fisher of provoking Chubbs, maintaining his bodyguard had simply acted in self-defense.
He goes on to blame Fisher’s injuries on his own carelessness and negligence, and requests the lawsuit be thrown out and for the plaintiff to pay his legal bills regarding the case.
Fisher, who made an appearance on Drake’s 2015 track “305 to My City,” is the producer of hits by Lil Wayne, Wiz Khalifa, Jennifer Lopez, and Beyonce, for whom he created “Drunk in Love.”
