Copyright
infringement lawsuits filed by Twista’s old label Creator’s
Way Associated Labels and Atlantic and bankruptcy proceedings
he is pursuing in Manhattan courts are stalling his plans
to wrap
up signing a solo album deal with Atlantic.
At least one
of the plaintiffs are seeking damages from Twista on grounds
that he
bootlegged their music through his current Chicago-based
label, Legit Ballin’
Records. His former
producer Legendary Traxster, is predicting that the
litigation in U.S. District Court could be resolved as soon
as early July.
The way judgments
are reportedly leaning against Twista, his ties to CWAL
might prove more difficult to sever as he finds himself
midway into production on his third album Kamikaze.
