Fans Express Confusion Over “Pop Rap” Category On “Spotify Wrapped”

How would you define the genre of Pop Rap?

(AllHipHop News) Spotify consumers are now learning their listening habits over the last year and the last decade. The streaming company released its personalized “Wrapped” lists, and fans are finding out the artists, songs, podcasts, and genres they streamed the most throughout the 2010s.

When it comes to genres, some Twitter users seem to be confused about a category called “Pop Rap.” The term was a top trending topic early Thursday morning as people shared their “Spotify Wrapped” information on the platform and questioned what makes a particular performer “Pop Rap.”

Spotify Premium users also have access to additional personalized data stories and insights such as the number of artists they discovered and the top artist they discovered this year. In addition, musicians and podcasters can see how their content connected with fans around the world in the 2019 Artist “Wrapped” and 2019 Podcaster “Wrapped.”

Earlier this week, Drake was named Spotify’s Most-Streamed Artist of the Decade with over 28 billion streams on the service. Post Malone was 2019’s top streaming act. Joe Budden’s The Joe Budden Podcast with Rory and Mal led Spotify’s list of Most-Streamed Podcasts for 2019.
