Two days after releasing a new three-part, 30-track mixtape, Gucci Mane has launched the campaign in support of his forthcoming sophomore effort, The State Vs. Radric Davis.
The Atlanta rapper unveiled both a December 8, 2009 street date for the So Icey/Asylum/Warner Bros. Records release, and the albums official first single, Spotlight featuring Usher.
The song, produced by Polow da Don, follows the national radio success of Guccis warm-up single Wasted, featuring Plies.
Additional production credits on the album include Drumma Boy, Mannie Fresh and Sean Garrett, who, along with Gucci, contributed to singer Marios summer hit Break Up.
The album also features appearances by Lil Wayne, Soulja Boy, and Guccis So Icey labelmates OJ Da Juiceman and Waka Flocka.
The State Vs. Radric Davis comes after four independent albums and is the follow-up to Guccis 2007 Atlantic Records debut Back to the Trap House.
In between the two, hes recorded and released 23 mixtapes, including The Burrprint (The Movie 3-D) with DJ Drama released on October 10 and the aforementioned three-part tape, The Cold War released on October 17.
The latter, defined by DJ Drama, as very worldly, is separated into three 10-song discs: BurrRussia, hosted by DJ Holiday; Great Brrrittain hosted by DJ Scream, and Guccimerica hosted by Drama.
Gucci Mane, who scored the #6 position on MTVs controversial Hottest MCs list this year, is rumored to be collaborating with Shawty Lo on one more mixtape due out by the end of this month.
In addition to his own radio success with Wasted, Gucci is also in heavy rotation as the featured artist on the remix to Mariah Careys latest single Obsessed.
