Doughbeezy posted on Instagram the gunman tried to shoot him outside the house, but the assailant froze up before pulling the trigger. He was then forced into the home with other victims. He managed to escape and retrieve a firearm from his vehicle.
Police confirmed a man did fire at the suspects, killing one. The other fled the scene and was later arrested at a nearby Wendy’s.
Representatives for Doughbeezy say he is currently recovering at home from his injuries from being pistol whipped.
“I’m glad that he’s okay. He’s alive, he’s breathing. That’s a blessing,” said chart-topping rapper Paul Wall. “I definitely see Doughbeezy as a hero.”
Doughbeezy has released several musical projects since 2010 such as No Money, No Conversations and Footprints On The Moon. He has also appeared on tracks with Wall, Bun B, Slim Thug, Killa Kyleon, Emilio Rojas, Devin the Dude, and others.
