The Jurassic 5 will
perform at a benefit concert tomorrow (December 3), to help raise money for a
non-profit organization that helps over 4,000 homeless and abused women and children
each month.
The group is part
of the musical line-up at the annual Sallie Mae benefit concert for Las Vegas’
Shade Tree Women’s Shelter.
The event has taken
place annually now for six years. Employee’s of Sallie Mae’s 300-person-call
center in Summerlin, Nevada forsake their annual Christmas party and instead
try to raise money for the shelter.
"This line-up
is drawing interest from music fans from throughout the region," said Jeff
Whorley, executive vice president of Sallie Mae, the nation’s leading provider
of education funding. "With the support of these incredible musicians,
Sallie Mae’s employees and the community at large, we are expecting our best-ever
turn out. Shade Tree meets critical needs in the Las Vegas community and deserves
our help."
In addition to
J5, Jem and local musician Geoff Byrd will open the show, which will take place
at the House of Blues.
The performance
is open to the public. General admission tickets are $25 and reserved seats
are $40.
