Rap superstar Kanye
West will head to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, for a performance at Stadium Negara,
on Apr. 8. West,
29, is expected to perform material from his platinum selling albums The College
Dropout
and Late Registration, as well as selections from his upcomingalbum, Graduation. The
rapper will be accompanied by a female string orchestra during the performance,
which is a being billed as a major event for the growth of the Hip-Hop scene in
Kuala Lumpur. Kuala
Lumpur is the largest city in Malaysia, with a population of over one and a half
million people.The
concert is West’s only in the region, after upcoming dates in Japan and South
Korea. In
related news, West is making headlines because of a music promotion company’s
plan to fly in a chef from Britain, for a dinner meeting scheduled for Wednesday
in New York. The
company has paid over $3,900, plus travel and accommodations to fly the head chef
of the Cardiff, Wales based restaurant the British Raj to Manhattan, to serve
a meal for West and seven associates.Head
chef Kaysor Ahmed will prepare the meal, which will include a specially prepared
fish dish, vegetables, onion bhajees, chapati breads and other exotic foods. Ahmed
will then taken by helicopter to London’s Heathrow Airport tomorrow (Mar. 6).
From Heathrow, Ahmed will will head to New York, where the meal will be served
to West and his associates on Wednesday.
