Meek Mill Talks Bridging The Gap Between Community Members & Police Officers

Watch the panel discussion presented by the Players Coalition.

(AllHipHop News) Emcee/activist Robert “Meek Mill” Williams and Philadelphia Eagles safety/Players Coalition co-founder Malcolm Jenkins took part in a town hall about policing. The panel discussion was created to get feedback from the community about Philadelphia’s next police commissioner.

Meek Mill, Malcolm Jenkins, and other panelists also talked about violence in the city, racial profiling, and cops accused of corruption. At one point, Meek shared his belief that law enforcement and local residents need to work together to solve some of the problems facing the public.

“The relationship [with] the police gotta be bridged. If it’s not going to be bridged, it will forever be separated. I don’t think anything can be done about it until both sides step up,” said the Roc Nation-managed music artist. “We’re here, we’re talking today, we’re ready to step up. I don’t know if there are any police officers in the building today, but after this, I hope we can just build and make things work.”

The National Football League published the full video of The Players Coalition’s “A Discussion About Philadelphia’s Next Police Commissioner” event on its official YouTube channel. Previously, Meek Mill worked with the NFL for the Inspire Change initiative.
