Metro Boomin is attempting to clear the air after multiple media outlets reported his and Lil Durk’s collab project isn’t dropping.
On Saturday (January 27), Metro tore apart a Hip-Hop Twitter (X) blog platform in a brief remark addressing a recent story based on a previous tweet he shared in response to a fan questioning the delay of he and Durkio’s joint-effort LP. More specifically, Metro told the fan of the status of the project, “we had it bout ready and it was but the leaks ruined it.” Shortly after Metro’s tweet response to the fan began circulating, media outlets began reporting that the project was “ruined” and essentially scrapped. But according to Metro, that isn’t the case.
“I never said it “wasn’t” ever dropping I just said it “didn’t” drop when it was supposed to due to leaks. amateur media outlets gotta start #reading [book emoji],” Metro wrote.
Durk himself appeared eager to see the tweet as well, considering he replied in the thread with a tweet that simply read “Metroooooooooooooo.” Metro also replied to Durk’s tweet, writing, “Smurkioooooo my brudda [fist bump/100 emojis],” further confirming they’re locked in despite the pesky leaks.
While it’s unclear when exactly Metro and Durk are planning to release the project, it is clear the Heroes & Villians hitmaker has his mind set on releasing a lot of music with major artists this year. In another separate tweet he teased new production he’s working on and teased collaborations with Future and and Zaytoven earlier this month.
