Hip-Hop trio The Mighty Underdogs will take center stage as the headliners for an upcoming fall tour.
The outing, which kicks off Oct. 30 at the Knitting Factory in Los Angeles, will feature group members Gift of Gab of Blackalicious, Lateef the Truth Speaker of Latyrx, and producer Headnodic of the Crown City Rockers as well as supporting act Zion I.
The fall tour marks the Mighty Underdogs’s first set of headling dates after touring with Aesop Rock, Blackalicious, DJ Shadow and Cut Chemist.
Cities on the collective’s trek include Los Angeles, Chicago and Seattle before concluding Nov. 22 at the Regency Ballroom in San Francisco.
News of the Mighty Underdogs fall tour comes as the group prepares for the release of its debut Definitive Jux album Droppin’ Science Fiction.
Guests include DJ Shadow, Mr. Lif, and Akrobatik of The Perceptionists, The Alkoholiks’ Tash, Jurassic 5’s Chali 2na, Julian and Damian “JR Gong” Marley.
Droppin’ Science Fiction is the follow up to The Mighty Underdogs 2007 independent release The Prelude EP.
The album, which was released via the group’s Giftsribution web site, included the single “Gunfight” featuring MF Doom.
The Mighty Underdog’s Droppin’ Science Fiction is slated to hit stores Oct. 14.
