Minaj was actually tapped to perform as well. The Queens rhymer ran through a medley of hits including “The Crying Game,” “Truffle Butter,” “Moment 4 Life,” “Feeling Myself,” and “Super Bass.”
According to reports, when it came time for Nicki to rap “Anaconda,” she dedicated the performance to Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump and Vice President Joe Biden.
“I’m very political, and I would like to dedicate a song, just in the spirit of unity, to Joe Biden and Donald Trump,” Minaj told the audience. She later asked, “Do you think they like that song? Who do you think likes the biggest butts, Donald Trump or Joe Biden?”
Back in December, Minaj spoke about politics with Billboard. The Young Money representative stated she supported and felt inspired by Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton as a woman, but she did not officially endorse her for president. When it came to Trump, Minaj found amusement in his candidacy.
“There are points he has made that may not have been so horrible if his approach wasn’t so childish,” said Minaj at the time. “But in terms of entertainment – I think he’s hilarious. I wish they could just film him running for president. That’s the ultimate reality show.
