Diplomats crew member Jim Jones will lend his talent and support to a good cause with an appearance at the National HIV Testing Day ceremony in Jersey City, New Jersey.

The Harlem-based MC will speaking on the importance of being tested for AIDS at the event, which will take place June 27, at middle school PS # 4 107.

Organized by the City of Jersey City, National HIV Testing Day is a community mobilization and social marketing campaign that encourages people to take advantage of voluntary HIV counseling, testing and prevention services.

The event will also disseminate valuable information about available medical care for those who test HIV-positive.

In addition to appearing at the National HIV Testing Day event, Jones will received a Proclamation from the City of Jersey City.

New Jersey Senator Sandra Cunningham and Jersey City Mayor Jerramiah Healy will be on hand to present the rapper with the honor.

National HIV Testing Day will provide a chance for Jones to take a break from working on the follow-up to his third solo album, Hustler’s P.O.M.E. (Product of My Environment).

The album, which was released in 2006, spawned the hit single “We Fly High.”

The National HIV Testing Day event is open to the public.

Those planning to come to the event must be tested for HIV/AIDS at one of the City of Jersey City authorized sites in order to gain admittance.
