Questlove Offers Cross-Country Tasting Tour With New Book, ‘somethingtofoodabout’

(AllHipHop News) When you’re featured as the musical director for The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon like Questlove, doors open up for you in all directions.

One such avenue that has embraced Questlove is the food connoisseur or “foodie” world, built on the taste buds of food lovers across the globe.

It’s a movement spawned in part by chefs and food enthusiasts like Anthony Bourdain, who wrote the forward to Questlove’s book called, somethingtofoodabout: Exploring Creativity with Innovative Chefs which is set to hit shelves next month.

“The term foodie is inadequate to describe Questlove’s relationship with the international subculture  of chefs. He would be better described as a fully made member of the chef media. This book offers  some evidence of his reach, the depth of his interest – and his extraordinary good taste,” Bourdain explains in the forward.

Written by Questlove with the help of Ben Greenman and featuring photos by renowned photographer Kyoko Hamada,  Questlove’s book is a new kind of food book.

In a press statement about the book we learn that the book isn’t just about food, it’s all about the art, craft, and creativity of working with food through the lens of 10 different chefs around the country.

“somethingtofoodabout takes readers around the country: not only to New York City, where Questlove is currently based, but to up-and-coming culinary hotspots like Austin and Philadelphia (the city of his birth). Questlove also goes west to Los Angeles, north to Portland, and south to New Orleans, speaking with chefs about their personal histories, their creative processes, and their insights into innovation in food.”

The Clarkson Potter published book will go on sale April 12, 2016 for $30.00 in the hardcover version.
