Rap pioneer and former Run-DMC member Joseph “Reverend Run” Simmons has inked a deal with Gotham Books worth more than $1 million and will write a new, untitled book addressing the issues of a family.
To promote the book, Rev. Run and his wife Justine will embark on a bus tour described as a mobile, multi-media, and multi-faceted campaign, which will provide a direct way of spreading their gospel to the public.
“It’s exciting for me and my wife to go out on tour and to get involved with the people,” Rev. Run told AllHipHop.com. “It’s one thing to have a show, it’s another thing to touch people.”
In the new book, Rev. Run and Justine will reveal their keys to successful parenting and provide tips on how to have a close and productive family.
The Simmons family are the stars of MTV’s#### reality show Run’s House, which focuses on the Simmons’ relationship as husband and wife and their parenting of their five children, Vanessa, 24; Angela, 20; Jojo, 17; Diggy, 12; and Russy, 10.
Both Reverend Run and Justine are accomplished authors.
In 2006, Reverend Run released his spiritual book Words of Wisdom: Daily Affirmations of Faith, while Justine recently released the childrens book God Can You Hear Me?
Reverend Run and Justine’s new book is set for release in 2008.
