A man who was allegedly assaulted by The Game after an argument during a pick-up game of basketball last year in Los Angeles has brought a new civil lawsuit against the Compton, CA rapper.
TMZ.com reports that Shannon Rodrick filed the suit Thursday (March 13) in Superior Court.
According to court documents, Rodrick stated that he fell backward after the Game (born Jayceon Taylor) told him his “team is garbage” and “‘sucker-punched” him.
In addition, Rodrick said in the suit that Taylor went to his vehicle to get a gun and approached him saying, “I’m going to blast this fool.”
News of the civil suit comes days after Taylor confirmed his released from Twin Towers Correctional Facility in Los Angeles on March 10 after pleading no contest to felony possession of a firearm in a school zone in February.
The rapper, who surrendered to authorities on March 2 and served eight days in jail, issued a statement to set the record straight on his release after rumors surfaced regarding the situation.
He is currently serving 150 hours of community service and three years probation for the ordeal.
Rodrick alleges assault, battery, a civil rights violation and negligence in the civil suit.
The suit seeks unspecified damages.
