(AllHipHop News) RondoNumbaNine, a rapper from Chicago’s South Side, was sentenced to 39 years in prison Tuesday, a condemnation stemming from 2014 slaying of driver Javan Boyd.
RondoNumbaNine, real name Clint Massey was sentenced by Judge Vincent Gaughan, according to published reports.
The 19-year-old rapper and 21-year-old Courtney Ealy had already been found guilty of the first-degree murder of Boyd. Ealy, also a rapper named Cdai, was sentenced to 38 years in prison.
Police charge that RondoNumbaNine and Ealy were two of three men that sought revenge in Chicago’s Wentworth Gardens apartment complex. When they arrived in the area, they saw Boyd, 29, in his car. They walked up to Boyd’s car and asked him where he was from, then shot him 7 times. Then they stormed off in the car that brought them to the neighborhood, prosecutors said.
Boyd died in a nearby hospital.
The entire shooting was captured on video by the Chicago Housing Authority’s video surveillance system. Ealy also dropped his cell phone near the scene.
Boyd was not a criminal, according to reports, and was a good father to his 11-year-old daughter.
