Def Jam artist Kelly Price, rapper Sauce Money and songwriter Jeremy Graham have sued Sean “P-Diddy” Combs because they feel the mogul cheated them out of millions in royalties stemming from 1997’s No Way Out.
The $4 million lawsuit said Combs conspired to defraud the trio out of monies made off of the 6-million-unit selling album.
The three songwriters all co-wrote Combs’ smash “I’ll Be Missing You,” a song dedicated to The Notorious B.I.G. They also wrote six other joints on the album.
Despite the albums success, the writers allege, they have received no money in the form of royalties.
The writers also claim there was an unethical cap placed on the amount of money paid out to the songwriters of the songs. Countering, Bad Boy reps said all parties included agreed upon the contacts offered.
In related news, Combs has reportedly lost his fight to keep 112 at Bad Boy, but the group is still unable to record with new home, Def Jam, due to legal constraints.
