(AllHipHop News) The 2015 Soul Train Awards were highly focused on celebrating R&B music. The showcase featured performances by the event’s host Erykah Badu, R. Kelly, Tyrese, Jazmine Sullivan, and many other Rhythm & Blues representatives. In addition, the night included some Hip Hop artists getting rewarded with trophies.

TDE emcee Kendrick Lamar won “Best Hip-Hop Song of the Year” for his track “Alright” off To Pimp A Butterfly. Christian rapper Lecrae’s “All I Need Is You” won the award for “Best Gospel and/or Inspirational Song.” Common, Rhymefest and John Legend’s “Glory” from Selma won “The Ashford & Simpson Songwriter’s Award.”
The Weeknd was one of the big winners for the evening. The Canadian crooner won “Best R&B/Soul Male Artist” and “Album of the Year” for Beauty Behind the Madness. Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars earned two wins as well for “Uptown Funk” (Video of the Year, Song of the Year).
