The show is said to be similar to The Fresh Prince by focusing on a “fish-out-of-water” story. Smith’s Overbrook Entertainment is producing the family sitcom, but there is no script or network attached at the moment.

The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air ran on NBC from 1990 to 1996. Smith played a fictionalized version of himself. The series also starred Jazzy Jeff, Alfonso Ribeiro, Tatyana Ali, Karyn Parsons, and the late James Avery.
