DMX Was Unware Of 'Redemption of The Beast'; Says Music On Tracklist Was Stolen

Since news of DMX’s Redemption of the Beast album was a hoax it was assumed that the 16 songs on the track list were phony too. At the Dark Man’s expense, fans may still be able to give those tracks a listen. His publicist Domenick Nati has released a statement revealing that the songs on the track list were stolen and may be released whether on X’s next album or not.

“I spoke to DMX today and he was unaware of the upcoming announcement of the Redemption Of The Beast album,” Nati said in his statement. “When I read him the projected track list of songs to be released X said, ‘that’s all stolen music’. DMX and myself are highly disappointed that trust was broken and that these songs may be released and sold without X’s knowledge or consent. DMX and Swizz Beatz are working on an album together and fans should look to their official social media accounts for accurate information.”

After the fake album art and track list started floating around, Swizz Beatz quickly took to his Instagram to blast the preposterous release, saying that that was not the album that he and DMX had been working on.

NAACP Office Deliberately Bombed In Colorado

Authorities are still investigating an attack on Civil Rights organization the NAACP, after an explosive device was detonated outside of a Colorado Springs location on January 6. Though no injuries were reported, there was “minimal surface charring to the exterior wall of the building.” Many are calling the attack a hate crime similar to the string of bombings that targeted minorities during the Civil Rights movement, including the now infamous church bombing of 1963 that resulted in the death of four young girls in Birmingham, Alabama.

The FBI has advised that “a potential person of interest in this investigation is a Caucasian male, approximately 40 years of age and balding. He may be driving a 2000 or older model dirty, white pick-up truck with paneling, a dark colored bed liner, open tailgate and a missing or covered license plate.”

Page Six shared an excerpt from the book:

The pair met at a Russell Simmons party and as Holloway tells it, hit it off immediately.

“I was there to keep Mike out of trouble, doing my usual babysitting job, and when I looked over, he was talking to this girl,” Holloway writes.

“I had to rub my eyes. I mean, the most exciting thing at that time was Naomi Campbell. She was wild and vivacious, with these legs that went on for days.

EXCLUSIVE: Shawn Pen Writes Book 'The Black Church'; Read An Excerpt Here

Rapper Little Shawn rose to fame in the early 90s when he released his debut album The Voice In The Mirror with the lead singles “I Made Love” and “Don Perignon,” which featured the Notorious B.I.G.  The New York native was supposed to record with the late Tupac Shakur in 1994 but while on his way to Quad Studios, Pac was robbed and shot five times.

In 1998, Little Shawn began a seven-year prison sentence for drug trafficking and after his release in 2004, he changed his name to Shawn Pen and decided to become an author. He recently released a book entitled The Black Church, which the late Chris Lighty was shopping around for a book deal before his death.

With the release of this book, Pen, who was almost signed by 50 Cent, says that he hopes to make a successful transition into the world of novels and film.

“Having an extensive background in the music industry, I just felt like it was time for a mature transition, sort of like Shakim [Compere] and [Queen] Latifah,” he told AllHipHop. “Today film is being overshadowed by the resurgence of television [shows like] Power, The Wire and Boardwalk. I started as a ghostwriter and books are just an extension of me being a writer. I’d like  [to] write the book and script and act like Tyrese and Will Smith would read, study & bring to life on camera.”

Read an excerpt of The Black Church below and purchase a copy here. If you’re not familiar with Shawn Pen, watch his video for his 1992 hit single “I Made Love (4 Da Vert 1st Time)” below.

Nowadays, his life is primarily focused on God, his church and his First Lady Rebecca. Unfortunately for him, a parishioner’s bad decision puts Trevor’s old friend Rudy in the middle of a problem that can potentially threaten Trevor’s church and his life. Now, Trevor must help his friend figure things out or risk his church…and his life out of the game.
