Chris Rock To Host The BET Awards In June

(AllHipHop News) The same day BET unveils the full list of nominations for the BET Awards, the host is revealed. Today (May 14th), Chris Rock was unveiled as the host of the 2014 BET Awards.

This will be the first time Rock hosts a music award show since hosting the MTV Video Music Awards in 2003. The BET Awards debuted in 2001, two years before Rock would host the MTV VMA’s for the second time in four years. According to Stephen G. Hill, President of Music Programming and Specials at BET, stated that it was a long process to get Rock as host:

We’ve been trying to make this happen for a VERY long while, and we’re ecstatic that Chris Rock will be the host of the BET Awards for the first time. Mr. Rock is a comedic genius with a rapier wit who is a keen observer of pop culture. We’re looking forward to what he is to unleash on June 29th. You will definitely want to meet us at the BET Awards.

The BET Awards will air live on BET on June 29th at 8pm EST.

T.I.: Game and LEP Bogus Boys Spoke and Ended Their Beef

(AllHipHop News) T.I is slowly but surely assuming the role Hip Hop beef arbitrator. Today (May 14th), the Grand Hustle boss informed the world that rapper Game and Chicago group L.E.P. Boys had ended their short lived dispute.

Last week, Game seemingly mispronounced the Chicago group’s name in his Lil Durk diss song with Tyga, “Chiraq To L.A.” when he remarked “Rock my Pelle P like LED, them Bogus Boys”. While Game claimed he was referring to a friend of his, Low End Derrick, G Count of LEP Bogus Boys decided to release his own diss song towards Game. Earlier today (May 14th), T.I. announce on his personal Twitter account that the two artists patched up their disagreements:

LEP Bogus Boys’ G Count spoke with  MTV News earlier and confirmed T.I.’s statement. After stating that he had no personal problems with Game, G Count vaguely states that his “Chiraq (Remix)” towards Game was not a diss song but a him “pulling his coattails”:

I’m not no opportunist, I didn’t do this to capitalize. It’s just when I heard it, it was a natural reaction. It wasn’t planned or nothing, it was a natural reaction. I said what I had to say, it wasn’t no dis record, I’m pulling his coattail on some real sh– and we’ll leave it at that.

G Count also stated that he is planning to release another mixtape in LEP Bogus Boys’ Don’t Feed da Killaz series.

Pro Era Releasing New EP In Two Weeks, Debuts New Kirk Knight-Produced Song "Extortion"

(AllHipHop News) The shift is finally explained. Less than a week after members of Pro Era mentioned a “shift” in their EXCLUSIVE interview with AllHipHop, SCION AV announces that they will be partnering with the Brooklyn rap group for an EP release entitled The Shift.

The Shift will be a sample-free EP released for free download and stream on Scion AV Soundcloud and on ScionAV.com. The Shift is expected to be released on May 27th and will come three and a half months after Pro Era’s previous EP, #SECCSTAPESVOL2.

Joey Bada$$’ upcoming album B4.DA.A$$ is expected to be released this fall.

Hip-Hop Rumors: The Never-Ending Jay/Solange/Beyonce Saga Update

People are just running wild with this story and I guess we have to follow suit. Is there a name for it yet? First of all, there is a rumor that Jay Z and Solange went jewelry shopping. That has already been refuted by the actual jeweler, Mr. Flawless. (He sounds like a bad DC comics super villian.

Also, somebody has told Gawker NOW that Jay Z and Beyonce got into some sort of heated exchange after the Solange fight. But here is the weird part. If Beyonce storms out on Jay, that’s news! That doesn’t get revealed after something epic happens so I question that. Here is the Gawker report.

A tipster who was at Bushwick pizza joint Roberta’s on Sunday night tells us that Beyoncé and Jay Z had dinner there—just a few days after Beyoncé’s sister Solange attacked Jay in an elevator. Social-media documentation of the evening seems to show a pleasant-enough date (at least, no one is getting kicked), but our source says that Beyoncé “stormed out,” ending the meal.

From what I hear, they are looking to do damage control on all of this. I’m wondering what form that will happen. Maybe its all the little things Beyonce has been doing. I don’t know but I don’t see this going away any time soon.

Tyler, The Creator Terrorizes Buzzfeed Staff At Their Office

(AllHipHop News) Tyler the Creator’s idea of humor has long been documented as a bit different than the norm.  Earlier today (May 12th), a number of employees of Buzzfeed have informed the world that Tyler the Creator entered their offices and became belligerent.

According to Buzzfeed LGBT editor Saeed Jones and Buzzfeed Senior Editor Matt Bellassai, Tyler the Creator entered the Buzzfeed offices in New York City and began becoming verbally and physically intimidating to the staff:

While these tweets seem cryptic, Buzzfeed writer Spencer Althouse intimates that Tyler’s actions may have been his usual jocular terrorism:

However not everyone at Buzzfeed sees the humor. According to Deputy editor-in-chief at Buzzfeed Shani O. Hilton and writer Ashley Ford, Tyler not only embarrassed himself but an entire race of people:

(AllHipHop News) If you close your eyes and throw a pin at the Billboard Top 100, you have a high probability of landing on a song produced and/or featuring Timbaland in the past year. Today, Timbaland revealed that his new album will be entitled Opera Noir.

According to Timbaland so far only his artist V and Cee-Lo Green are guests on his upcoming fourth studio album. While no music from the album has been heard, Timbaland is already comparing the new disc to one of the greatest Hip Hop albums of all time:

It’s way different. It’s more of a sound. It’s Timbaland’s [The] Chronic. How Dr. Dre has his [The] Chronic, I’ve finally made my [The] Chronic.

Jennifer Lopez Will Perform In The Bronx For The 1st Time In Her 15-Year Career

(AllHipHop News) In 2002 Jennifer Lopez informed the world that she was still “Jenny From The Block” and 12 years later she finally proves it. Today (May 14th) it was announced that Jennifer Lopez will put on a free concert in her home borough of the Bronx as apart of State Farm Neighborhood Sessions.

Loepz has performed numerous times in New York City, however this will mark her first ever concert performance in her home borough of The Bronx in her 15 year music career. The concert will take place at Orchard Beach in Pelham Bay Park, an area the American Idol judge shares memories of:

I’m humbled and honored to be doing my first ever concert in the Bronx. I can’t wait to go back home and give a show to the people and community that inspired me.  Of all the summer days I spent in Orchard Beach, this is going to be one to remember!

Jennifer Lopez’s relationship with her home borough has been complicated of the past few years. Back in 2010, after Lopez acquired a $12 million contract to be a guest on American Idol, the principal of a Bronx school she attended, Holy Family School accused the singer of not giving back to her old neighborhood. The principal, Claire La Tempa even recalled an instance when Lopez’s mother and former Holy Family School teacher Guadalupe Rodriguez informed her as to why Lopez would not provide a scholarship at the school’s request:

When Jennifer became famous, I asked Lupe if Jennifer could donate a scholarship in her name, and Lupe just said, ‘Uh-uh! That’s her money and that’s it.’

Hip-Hop Rumors: Beyonce “Tells” Her Side Of The Story

Beyonce, Solange and Jay Z are not speaking on the now-infamous situation that occurred in an elevator at the Standard Hotel a couple weeks ago. Remember, by the time the video was released, the MET gala had been long over. Anyway, it seems like the friction with the parties is easing up. Jay Z and Solange were apparently seen shopping at a jewelry store. And some other stuff has happened since. Now, Beyonce put up a prayer than was left for people to interpret, but didn’t quite offer any insight to what was going on.

Anyway – you get the “picture.” Basically, she is trying to combat the NOTION that Solange deleted almost all of the pics of her and Beyonce on her instagram. But, according to other reports, she never had a bunch of pictures of her and B on her instagram to begin with. Anyway, Beyonce also posted a pic of her and Rihanna, seemingly to combat the rumor that the beef was over Jay going to a Rihanna party without her.

I am hearing they will not release any statement, but just continue on until the dust bowl blows over.

Rumors have been flying about T.I. and Tiny’s marriage being in turmoil, and this latest development is definitely going to make it worse.

Both have denied rumors about T.I. cheating and knocking up his alleged jumpoff, but now a woman by the name of Lexxy is putting the rapper on full blast.

@TheShadeRoom obtained a photo the woman posted to Facebook and not only did Tip cook the young lady dinner, but also spent Mother’s Day with her (Tiny clearly not pictured anywhere).

Lebron James Will Not Play Next Season If Donald Sterling Is Still Los Angeles Clippers' Owner (VIDEO)

(AllHipHop News) In this catpitalist world where a billionaire can remain an NBA after a decade of allegations of racism, Lebron James is putting his money where his message is. In a trailer for an upcoming episode of Jim Rome on Showtime, the Vice President of the Players Association outlined Lebron James’ plans for next year if Donald Sterling remained the Los Angeles’ Clippers head coach.

While current President of the Players Association, Chris Paul and his Los Angeles Clippers are entrenched in a playoff battle with the Oklahoma City Thudner, the Players Association VP Roger Mason Jr discussed the Donald Sterling controversy. In the short clip, Mason Jr made a declarative statement that could change the entire 2014-2015 NBA season:

I was just in the locker room, three or four days ago. Lebron and I talked about it. He ain’t playing if Sterling is still an owner.

Lebron James signed a 6 year / $109.84 million deal with Miami in 2010 with over $67 million guaranteed. However, James has a clause in his contract that allows him to opt-out and test free agency by the June 30th deadline.
