West Coast Vet Big Hutch Returns With New LP “The Big Hit”

(AllHipHop News) West Coast pioneer MC Big Hutch a.k.a. Cold 187Um surprised his fans early this morning with a new album.

The latest release, titled The Big Hit was produced entirely by the rapper, who decided to release the album just 12 hours after alerting his fans.

Big Hutch decided to release the album on his own West World Records label, which is being distributed by The Big Shot Music Group.

“I didn’t want to do the same ole ‘pre-hype’ type of promotion with this project. I have a long enough history with my fans to where I can just get the word out and be like here is my new album…go get it, without all the fluff and drag,” Big Hutch told AllHipHop.com in a statement. “Most of the time when I do pre-hype a release, my fans want it right then and there anyways. They don’t want to have to wait a month or two for it to drop. I’m giving my fans what they really want, a record from me that they can purchase within a few hours of knowing about the release.”

The Big Hit is the follow-up to Big Hutch’s last official album, The Only Solution, which was released on The Insane Clown Posse’s Psychopathic Records.

Big Hutch said he left Psychopathic Records, after division in the Juggalo fan community arose over Big Hutch’s involvement with The Insane Clown Posse and the label.

The West Coast legend is also preparing two new releases, titled Live From Hell’s Kitchen and O.G. Since 1967 in addition to a collaborative album titled I Am The True Definition Of Hip-Hop with his protegé, Cali Barnes.

Check out the artwork for Big Hutch’s The Big Hit below and purchase the album here.

Wale Allegedly Gets Into Physical Altercation With Wrestling Fan, Addresses It On Twitter

(AllHipHop  News) Wrestling is fake. Twitter is realistic. Earlier tonight (March 31st), Wale allegedly got into an altercation with an audience member at the WWE Raw event in Washington, D.C. over a few disparaging tweets.

The two men were in attendance at the Verizon Center for the WWE’s Monday Night Raw and engaged in a short back-and-forth on Twitter. The audience member threatened to deliver one of the most well known wrestling moves of the last 15 years on the Maybach Music Group rapper:

According to multiple accounts from attendees at the Verizon Center, Wale soon after approached the heckler and shoved him. WWE security detained both men and escorted them out of the crowd before allowing them to return shortly thereafter:

Wale himself seemed to be in good spirits following the altercation. Wale addressed the physical altercation by implying that that was the best course of action given the fan’s threats:

Nas’ Makes History With 100-Member Orchestra In Washington D.C.

“I was inside a small room, inside a small apartment – writing in my books. Every thing I seen, everything I learned. And it just blew my mind. As a teenager, I was talking about a life that a Viet Nam vet had gone though. This is life.”

– Nas on his state of being while writing Illmatic.

Nas raised the bar over the weekend. Again.

The rap god performed two sold out, historic shows at the revered John F. Kennedy Center in Washington D.C. Friday and Saturday last weekend. Nas, backed by the National Symphony Orchestra, tore the house down by performing the entire Illmatic album, in honor of the opus’ 20th year anniversary. With DJ Green Lantern in tow, as well as a full rhythm section, Nas also cranked out other hit records like “One Mic,” “Made You Look,” “You’re Da Man” and “Hate Me Now.”

The crowd – of all shapes, ages, sizes and socio-economic backgrounds – loved every minute of the electric evening.

As the night closed, Nas said, “Its the end of the cassette tape (crowd laughs and moans). You can always turn it around. But this song here was inspired by Michael Jackson. If you notice on my (Illmatic) album cover was a kid with a little afro. I thought about it later and I was trying to channel Mike…with his afro. This one is from “Human Nature’ (from MJ’s coveted Thriller album).” The Queensbridge lyricist finished with “It Ain’t Hard To Tell.”

But the show wasn’t over.

The Nas, Green, the band and the 40-piece orchestra departed the stage. But, it didn’t last.

Soon, to the crowds delight, Nas returned with just a DJ and The Rhythm section for an encore performance.

Cee Lo Green Replaced By Pharrell On NBC’s “The Voice” As He Fights Ecstasy Suit

(AllHipHop News) Pharrell could be nearing the Guinness Book of World Records for most jobs in a calendar year. Today (March 31st), it was announced that Pharrell will replace Cee Lo Green on the seventh season of The Voice.

The news comes a day after Cee Lo Green appeared in a Los Angeles court over accusations of spiking a woman’s drink with ecstasy back in July 2012. A preliminary hearing for the case is set for April 28t, near the end of season 6 of The Voice, his final season with the show.

The news was announced on the NBC show’s official Twitter account:

During an interview on The Ellen Degeneres Show this past February, Cee Lo announced he would not return to The Voice. Cee Lo did not mention his legal troubles when explaining his reason for not returning, but instead places the blame on being on the show for too long:

I’m not coming back at all. I just don’t want to wear out my welcome there, you know what I’m saying? I have so many other things that I want to do. I haven’t released an album in four years. I’m almost done with my album.

Benzino’s Nephew Pleads Not Guilty + Claims He Shot His Uncle In Self-Defense

(AllHipHop News) The plot thickens. Today (March 31st), a day after Benzino was allegedly shot by his nephew G## Scott during Benzino’s mother’s funeral procession, G## Scott appeared in court and rendered a not guilty plea while claiming self-defense.

G## Scott appeared in Plymouth District Court earlier today and faced a charged of armed assault with the intent to murder. Scott’s attorney Jon Ciraulo rendered the verdict of not guilty on his client’s behalf and informed The Boston Globe that Scott’s actions were in self-defense:

When the dust settles, this case will be shown to be self-defense

Benzino’s attorney  Martin K. Leppo responded to G## Scott’s self defense claims by stating that G## Scott shooting six shots into Benzino’s car and then chasing him down the highway “doesn’t sound like self-defense to me.’

The cause of the shooting has been reportedly linked to family issues over the management of Bezino’s mother’s land. Maureen Scott, Benzino’s sister and G## Scott’s mother, had her attorney  Christopher B. Coughlin relay her disapproval of Benzino’s actions and makes accusations of ulterior promotional motives for Benzino:

My client and his family, including Maureen [Scott] vehemently deny any accusations that Benzino is making. I would suggest that he [the uncle] has an agenda in utilizing and self-promoting at this time.
