Nick Cannon Sparks Controversy With “Whiteface” Pics/Vids

(AllHipHop News) In the Internet Age, entertainers sometimes feel the need to find some way to break through the 2-hour news cycle to grab attention for their new projects. Actor/rapper/comedian Nick Cannon’s approach has definitely caught people’s eyes, but his choice of using “whiteface” has some upset.

While promoting his forthcoming album White People Party Music, the creator of MTV2’s Wild ‘N Out posted photos on Instagram of him made up as a white man. The first photo included the caption, “It’s official… I’m White!!! #WHITEPEOPLEPARTYMUSIC#Wppm in stores April 1st!!!!!!Dude Go Get It!!!Join The Party!!!!” Cannon also posted a video introducing his new character as Connor Smallnut.

The pictures and videos had some people online questioning why it was okay for Cannon to portray himself as white, but Caucasians wearing “blackface” is viewed as unacceptable. Critics even suggested that Cannon and the act of pretending to be white is racist.

Cannon later defended himself by posting another picture on Instagram of Robert Downey, Jr’s character from the comedy Tropic Thunder. He included the caption, “Shout out to @RobertDowneyJr This is one of my favorite characters of all time! Hilarious!!! There is a big difference between Humor and Hatred.”

Diddy Clears Up Rumors On Name Change; Releases Teaser To “Big Homie” Video

(AllHipHop News) For a minute it appeared Sean Combs was taking it back to 1997. In the video teaser for his new single “Big Homie” featuring Rick Ross and French Montana, the man who has gone by Diddy for several years reintroduced himself as Puff Daddy.

While some outlets ran stories suggesting Combs was now performing as Puff Daddy once again, the Bad Boy Entertainment founder took to Twitter to make it clear he will always be Puffy, but his professional moniker is still Diddy.

It was Puff Daddy that released the 7x platinum No Way Out album in ’97. Diddy’s last LP was 2010’s Last Train to Paris. His next album MMM is set for release later this year.

Gucci Mane – Shine Feat. Young Thug & Waka Flocka

Gucci and Waka on the same track? Last we heard, Waka Flocka and Gucci were beefing, and Waka went as far as to say that Gucci- “He don’t exist to me”. Well, apparently the “beef” isn’t that deep as Waka just jumped on Gucci Mane’s newest banger “Shine” featuring Atlanta’s newest sensation Young Thug.

Hip-Hop Rumors: Will Drake Respond To Jay?

This is all people want to know these days! Forget that Malaysian Flight! WILL DRAKE RESPOND!?

The answer? No.

I am hearing that Drake has no ambitions to be embroiled in a beef with the man that almost ended Nas. In fact, I heard its even lighter fare than that. Drake wasn’t all that impressed. The internet is going nuts over it and Jay has single-handedly helped get Jay-E back into the game. That first single he dropped had a pretty big echo.

But, Drake ain’t really the beefing type even though at one point on the come up, he was. Drake is more of a sublime dude. But, no really beef with Common or Kendrick – when the stakes were high – what makes us thing he’d come back on Jay?

These guys are friends anyway!!!
