Rappers React to Mayweather Victory; Lil’ Wayne and Kelly Rowland Perform

(AllHipHop News) It was a long night in Vegas and as predicted by many in the Hip-Hop world, Floyd “Money” Mayweather won by a unanimous decision against Robert “The Ghost” Guerrero last night at the MGM Grand.

Improving his record to 44-0, Floyd won in 12 rounds of boxing as he finessed and punished Guerrero with jabs, hooks and defensive tactics that wore out the younger Guerrero out.

While some boxing analysts questioned whether or not Floyd’s age and his recent incarceration would have an impact on the fight, Floyd held on to the Welterweight WBC Title in a decisive victory, silencing any critics that said he would be rusty.

To start the fight Mayweather was escorted into the ring by Lil’ Wayne who performed his song “No Worries” along side Floyds trainers, the TMT entourage and most importantly his father, Floyd Mayweather Sr.

Hip-Hop and R&B talent alike were in the building as Kelly Rowland sang the “National Anthem” for the United States.

Also in attendance were Rick Ross and Sean “Diddy” Combs, who were pictured in between rounds.

Throughout the fight Guerrero attacked Mayweather into the ropes, but everytime “Money” Mayweather danced circles around the frustrated Guerroro, countering with every shot that Guerrero landed.

“We did it again,” an exhausted Mayweather told reporters ring side. “I take my hat off to Robert Guerrero, he’s a true warrior.”

Throughout the final four rounds of the fight Guerrero was struggling to abate a cut over his eye that was caused by a fierce jab from Mayweather in the eighth round.

When Guerrero did get close to Floyd, he dodged Guerrero or the two often locked up and the judge had to separate the fighters, as Guerrero continued to take what Floyd called “rabbit punches” – punches to the back of the neck.

Three judges eventually scored the match 117-111, and while some booing fans were looking for the knockout, Floyd says that he hurt his right hand earlier in the fight and felt bad he was unable to get the KO for fans.

After the fight rappers rejoiced in Floyd’s predicted victory.

“Wow! I can’t believe it. Floyd Mayweather just won!” – Captain Obvious.” Chamillionaire said.

“Again I say…. Speed kills” Scarface Tweeted.

“One of the beat things about the great fight last night,was seeing Floyd Sr back were he belong in his son korner! #letswin!” said Tone Trump

“Floyd is remarkable S/O @LilTunechi for support our hit single commas @lepbogusboys and @masonbetha floyd got more commas tonight.” – the LEP Bogus Boys Tweeted.

The night was also lucrative for some rappers that bet thousands on Floyd winning the fight.

“I got 20 Bands on Floyd,” West Coast rapper YG Tweeted before the fight.

According to Golden Boy’s Richard Schaefer, Floyd’s next fights are potentially with Amir Khan, Danny Garcia or a rematch with Victor Ortiz, as he closes out his final five fights of his career.

All people keep asking me is will Mister Cee come out of the closet on Monday in this upcoming exclusive interview with his own company, Hot 97. Now, Hot 97 has been extremely supportive of Cee. In fact, they joke about it like “Dude, get a room.” But, this interview will be interesting for a couple of reasons. First of all, last time he had an incident like this, he eventually pled guilty in the case. But, that was only after several denials. After that, everybody kept it moving. This new situation is quite the quandary, but definitely going to lead to massive ratings for Hot 97.

Lil Wayne Comments On Gay NBA Player Jason Collins

(AllHipHop News) MTV caught up with Lil Wayne and got the rapper’s views on the revelation that NBA hooper Jason Collins is gay.

Lil Wayne kept his response terse and to the point, but made it clear that door have been opened for gays in sports sports.

“What it does for sports? It’s opening a lot of doors and it’s showing that it’s a fair world out there. Just to see how many people came to his support and things like that, that’s a pretty fair world out there. Be you.”

A$AP Rocky shared a similar opinion, but also took a moment to chide those men that stay in the closet hiding their true selves.

“That’s his business,” Rocky said in an interview with KYSDC radio in Washinton DC. “I respect men more for coming out. People joke on Frank Ocean a lot but at least he’s not out here fronting. It’s a lot of people, a lot of motherf*ckers be out here, they be the closet motherf*ckers, you know? I don’t respect them. I respect gay men who identify it and who are out with it. I don’t have a problem with gay people at all. So it’s like, that’s his business. It don’t concern me. Number one, I barely get to watch basketball like that as it is. Number two, I don’t even know who this n*gga is that you talking about. Dead a**. He probably has ten times more money than me but I don’t know who he is. We got the Frank Ocean of the NBA now who came out and did what he had to do. Shout-outs to him.”

Lil Flip Is No Longer A Wanted Man

(AllHipHop News) Lil Flip is no longer wanted by police in Houston.

The authorities issued an arrest warrant for Flip last year after they found an AR-15 assault rifle in his car.

TMZ reports that Flip’s lawyer had the court recall the warrant, citing that the rapper made a mistake and forgot a mandatory court date.

The rapper was stopped on Christmas and a search of the car produced the rifle as well as illegal drugs.

Lil Flip, real name Wesley Weston, maintains that he has a license to carry the firearm.

A new court date is set for July.

You might remember when I was trying to get over Kelly Rowland, who did magnificent last night at the fight, I was trying to get into Keri Hilson. Well, the rumors today say somebody else got in Keri. In fact, that’s the rumor – that she’s pregnant. Now, Kreayshawn’s baby will have a playmate. Well, the rumor is, Keri got knocked up by an NBA basketball player.

While everybody was chatting up about the Floyd Mayweather fight, JD was depressed bout his Kriss Kross lil brother Chris Kelly. He was posting pictures and spoke of being “heart broken.” I can’t imagine the pain he feels, since Kriss Kross is a big reason why he’s successful.

Mister Cee To Address Prostitution Bust On Hot 97 Morning Show

(AllHipHop News) DJ Mister Cee will reportedly join the Hot 97 morning show to address the allegations that he was arrested attempting to get sex from a male prostitute.

The news broke earlier today, as police claimed Cee, a Hot 97 DJ, tried to solicit a man for sex on a Brooklyn corner earlier Saturday morning. The man purported to be a h##### was actually an undercover cop.

Cee has not addressed the situation at press time and has not indicated his position on the matter.

The interview will be conducted on Hot 97 at 7:45 am Eastern Standard Time on Monday.

Funeral Services Planned for Chris ‘Mac Daddy’ Kelly

(AllHipHop News) After a week of mourning and speculation that Chris “Mac Daddy” Kelly died of a drug overdose, funeral services have officially been planned for the former childhood star from the rap duo Kris Kross.

While cocaine and heroin are likely to be the deadly combination that took the life of Chris Kelly, police have not revealed the toxicology results yet.

In addition, Kelly’s mother told police that Kelly had become sick after using the deadly combination of drugs often called “speed-balling.”

The Murray Brothers Funeral Home in Atlanta, Georgia will hold a public viewing for Kelly in the afternoon and evening on Wednesday (May 8).

The funeral services will take place on Thursday (May 9) at Jackson Memorial Baptist Church.

Chris Kelly’s passing comes just weeks after he re-united with fellow Kris Kross member Chris Smith for the So-So Def 20th Anniversary All-Star concert.

The group was said to be joining a possible So-So Def reunion tour in the coming months.

Chis Kelly was just 34 year-old.

DJ Mister Cee of Hot 97 finds himself in controversy as he has been charged with solicitation of a male prostitutes and his cohorts are commenting on the matter. , the popular DJ at Hot 97, was arrested for trying to solicit a male prostitute. according to reports. As you may know, Cee was arrested on Saturday for trying to hook up with a male h#####. Not a lot of people have commented, but program director Ebro Darden is talking on the social network Twitter! Whoa! What’s to come of Mister Cee at this point. My thoughts: if Cee was a regular dude, he’d have lost his job.

Nas Fights Back in Promoter Kidnapping Case

(AllHipHop News) Queensbridge bred rapper Nas is asking a judge to dismiss a New Jersey promoter’s $10 million lawsuit.

The suit stems from the promoter being kidnapped in Angola for 50 days after Nas didn’t appear at a Luanda New Years Eve concert scheduled in December of 2011.

While Nas say that the dispute was already resolved out of court by paying back a $300,000 advance, the promoter wants $10 million for being beaten and threatened at gunpoint while kidnapped in Angola.

According to TMZ, Nas filed court documents earlier this week asserting the dispute was settled during the promoter’s kidnapping, which eventually came to the attention of the United States State Department.

As part of the agreement, Patrick Allocco agreed not to sue for the incident, that also resulted in his son Patrick Jr.’s alleged kidnapping by Angolan promoter Henrique “Riquhino” Miguel and his associates.

Nas is also asking for a dismissal of the suit due to the fact that the promoter agreed to be “human security” for the concert prior to Nas agreeing to perform.

The Illmatic rapper says he refused to show up to the concert after a breach of  contract on the Allocco’s behalf as plane tickets were botched and advance payments were late.

Rumor on the block is Reebok is looking to replace Rick Ross with another urban specialist to get the darker people to cop their shoes. I say that respectfully. Anyway. You won’t believe it. BOW WOW is allegedly one of the people that the brand is eyeballing. I mean, rappers are falling left and right with these sponsorships. Looks like Bow Wow is safe and he’s also on TV every day. This rumor started with Bow Wow himself, because he made a post on his Facebook talking about a meeting he was having. Not sure if he can drive sales, but he probably shouldn’t talk about his business dealings until the ink dries.

On the other side, I heard that Tyler The Creator losing his Mountain Dew Endorsement was just a sidebar and a reaction to the Lil Wayne / Rick Ross stuff. Basically. It wasn’t that silly online video in and of itself…it was fear of further controversy.

Gucci Mane On House Arrest, Rapper Proclaims “I’m Back”

(AlHipHop News) Gucci Mane is presently on house arrest in Atlanta, not completely free as previously reported.

The rapper must also undergo random drug and alcohol testing. He was released last week on $75,000 bond.

Gucci was incarcerated for hitting a man in the head with a champagne bottle at the Atlanta nightclub.

   James Lettley, a U.S. Army E6 Staff Sergeant, said he was just celebrating his birthday with his wife when the attack occurred.

  “Because Mr. Lettley was a fan of defendant Davis and his music, Mr. Lettley approached a member of defendant Davis’ entourage who was standing at the VIP area and asked if he could take a picture with defendant Davis, mentioning that he was a soldier serving his country, celebrating his birthday,” says a complaint filed in Fulton County Court.

Gucci Mane was subsequently charged with aggravated assault.

On Twitter, Gucci Mane recently proclaimed “I’m back.”

May Day Preview: Floyd Mayweather vs Robert Guerrero

Tonight The Money Team (TMT) ringleader, Floyd “Money” Mayweather, puts his 43-0 record on the line against southpaw Robert “The Ghost” Guerrero in Las Vegas, Nevada at the MGM Grand Garden Arena for the WBC Title.

Its been about a year since Mayweather’s last fight against Cotto, and a lot has changed since then.  Floyd has served jail time for a domestic dispute turned violent, he had beef with former friend and TMT member 50 Cent, he patched up his relationship with his father and he left HBO for Showtime in a $250 million deal.

While Floyd has a had a little bit of trouble with lefty’s like Jose Luis Castillo,  Zab Judah and DeMarcus “Chop-Chop” Corley, Floyd has always remained victorious and despite a few close calls, Floyd defense has remained impenetrable.

This fight is a fight that Guerrero has wanted for some time as he has called out Floyd on multiple occasions to fight over the past few years.   After showing that he could fight in the welterweight class, many boxing analysts say this will be a test for Floyd as the rust from jail and father time are factors creeping up on his undefeated record.

From solitary confinement, back to the gym, Floyd has become the highest paid sports athlete of all time, but he is 36 years of age now, and Guerrero thinks Floyd’s legs are getting tired and the money and entourages are getting to his head.  This is undoubtably a fight of polar opposites, as Guerrero’s small town and humble demeanor goes up against sport’s biggest superstar. It’s May Day, its Cinco de Mayo, get your popcorn ready, this will be a show.

DJ Mister Cee Allegedly Allegedly Tried To Solicit Sex From Male Prostitute

(AllHipHop News) DJ Mister Cee, the popular DJ at Hot 97, was arrested for trying to solicit a male prostitute. according to reports.

The arrest happened Saturday in Brooklyn police sources say.

The 46-year-old DJ, whose real name is Calvin LeBrun, was unaware that the had unwittingly approached an undercover cop on Madison St. and Broadway in Bushwick before the midnight hour on Friday.

In 2011, Cee pled guilty to loitering for the purpose of engaging in prostitution after he was caught receiving oral sex from a man in a parked car.

Mister Cee has a storied history in Hip-Hop and has been indelibly linked to the careers of Big Daddy Kane, Notorious B.I.G.’s and, for years has been an anchoring force at New York’s Hot 97.

Cee has not commented and his legal status is unknown at press time.
