(AllHipHop Rumors) Rick Ross may have lost his bout with protesters, but Tyga will continue to perform at Harvard University’s Yardfest despite opposition.
The rapper will perform today as originally scheduled, even though there was a 2,000 person petition in circulation again his inclusion in the annual event.
The YMCMB rapper’s detractors said his songs contained “violently misogynistic lyrics.”
The Harvard Concert Commission and College Events Board made the ultimate decision to keep Tyga.
Tyga is a Grammy-nominated rapper that recent released Hotel California, his first album.
Neither Tyga or his reps have commented on the controversy.
(AllHipHop News) Gucci Mane was released yesterday on charges that he assaulted a fan and was re-arrested just today on parole violation.
The rapper was put back in jail, according to TMZ.
The initial charges stem from the late March accusation that Gucci Mane struck a fan in the head with a bottle at an Atlanta night club. The rapper was granted bail at $75,000 after the judge reconsidered. After posting bail, he was arrested again. No word on what his new bail will be.
Another man in Philadelphia says that he was also assaulted by Gucci.
(AllHipHop News) DMX has been on of the most consistently confounding artists in Hip-Hop history.
He may top his accomplishments with a new show, “Fix My Life,” as he reunites with his son Xavier. The pair have not seen each other in over a year.
The reunion becomes contentious with his son put a no-drugs condition on their reconciling.
“Healthy relationship, can we have that? Clean, completely clean,” Xavier says.
“That’s some bulls**t,” DMX exclaims. “If you gonna put a condition on our relationship, well then I get that’s when you’ll get to see me.”
In the video, host Iyanla Vanzant and DMX clash as well.
The show runs in its entirely tonight on Oprah Winfrey’s OWN Network.
They sure are dragging this out.

He’s really twisting the knife with this Rihanna stuff. He and Ray-J should do an album! He said the following to Eliot “YN” Wilson:
“His insecurities are the reason I make better music than him. I’m more popping than him…At one point the woman he loves fell into my lap and I did what a real ni**a would do and treated her with respect.”
Drake also said:
“It’s not me and Kendrick, it’s not me and Hov. You’re not gonna get anything out of it. I don’t want to hear that man rap. No one wants to hear me rap against him. I really do this s###. You’re not even going to get anything out of it.”
I guess he’s not taking too greasy, but it sure sound disrespectful even though he’s saying he treated Rihanna with respect.
REALLY, STACEY?

Looks like Stacey Dash has very little to do these days. She apparently has a major problem with Jay-Z and Beyonce and how they appropriate their funds. Namely, she’s talking about going to Cube and the like. And, while Jay and B are not above criticism, I’m thinking Stacey needs to S### with her fine a$$. Does she really want to monitor where Jay and B spend their time and money? Well, I’ll do that for her, if her time is with me and her money is one me. Other than that GTFOHWTB, ma.
LUPE FIASCO: ME TOO!
Lupe Fiasco says he lost endorsements and paper over his Obama comments and criticism.

(AllHipHop News) Ice Cube’s production company, Cube Vision, is the subject of a new lawsuit that alleges the company turned a book into a movie without permission.
Author Franklin White , has filed suit against Cube Vision, Warner Bros. Pictures, Alcon Film Fund and Alcon Entertainment in federal court in Atlanta for creating the 2008 movie “Lottery Ticket” without authorization.
According to the hardcover description, “First Round Lottery Pick,” White’s 2005 book, is gritty dramatic book about a young basketball star instantly becomes wealthy and the surrounding problems that arise. “Lottery Ticket” is a comedy about a young man, played by Bow Wow, who wins the lottery and has subsequent issues that follow.
White claims he sent a copy of “First Round Lottery Pick” to Cube Vision president Matt Alvarez in hopes that he could become a writer for the company on a sitcom starring basketball star Lebron James. In August of 2009, Cube Vision started filming “Lottery Ticket,” according to the complaint, and it was released in theaters by Warner Brothers in 2010. The movie made $24 million at the box office.
White charges that a film expert found 44 duplicate incidents between “First Round Lottery Pick” and “Lottery Ticket,” causing him to initiate legal action.
White wants to cease sales of the movie, a portion of the profits, damages and his attorney fees paid.
Incidentally, Ice Cube is not mentioned in the suit as an individual in the complaint even though his company is included in the law suit.
OG Double D was murdered from gunfire as he drove his Maybach on Interstate 20 in southeast Atlanta on Thursday.
According to reports, OG Double D, also known as Freeband Double D of The Freeband Gang, was driving in rush hour traffic when somebody in a white SUV opened fire on the Maybach.
OG Double D died later after he was being moved to the hospital.
He was a music executive and affiliated artistically with Future through his Freebandz recording imprint.
Authorities continue to investigate the killing and are hoping that somebody can help with identifying the killer.
“It sounded like a bazooka,” one witness said to local Channel 2 in Atlanta.
The witness described to Channel 2’s Ashley Swann what he heard moments before the rare black Mercedes Maybach came to a stop along I-20 westbound at Glenwood Avenue Thursday afternoon.
“We potentially could’ve had an extremely dangerous situation,” DeKalb Police Department spokeswoman Mekka Parish told Swann. “Possibly shots were fired from that white SUV into the black car. That white SUV did flee the scene.”
Finally after all of these years, the epic and historic story of the late great Jackie Robinson comes to the big screen. Backed and Warner Bros. and the endorsement of Jackie’s widow Mrs. Rachel Robinson, 42 is set to hit theaters nationwide on April 12 and AllHipHop.com was invited to an early screening.
After World War II, Brooklyn Dodgers General Manager Branch Rickey (played by the iconic Harrison Ford) began the search for the right African American athlete from the Negro Baseball Leagues to break the color barrier in Major League Baseball at the time. Rickey settled on the multi-sport talented (Tennis, Football, Track and Baseball) Robinson. Knowing full well of the abuse and tribulations that Jackie would have to endure by racist America, Rickey instructs his young rising star not to fall in to the traps that his many detractors would lay before him. Enduring death threats, much name calling, the dislike of fellow teammates and hate mail, Jackie Robinson was able to fight through these difficulties and do his fighting on the field, which led to the eventual destruction of the color barrier in all of sports and was precursor to the civil rights movement that would come later in the nation.
Before viewing the movie I was a bit concerned about a major company handling such an important factor in American history. Would they make the story too safe? Would they display and show the truth about the abhorrent behavior of racist America at the time? The answer is that Warner allowed the movie to show the ugly and disgusting truths at the time. There is a scene in which Robinson is being so berated and degraded by the Philadelphia Phillies manager that’s very difficult to watch due to the anger that will rise up within you as you witness the abuse laid upon him. Chadwick Boseman does a fine job in playing the often reserved Robinson and shines when it comes time to show how the heavy toll of enduring all of the abuse. As much as 42 is about Jackie Robinson, it’s also about the bravery of Branch Rickey who also becomes a father-type figure for the athlete as he deals with being the first African American in the Major Leagues. Harrison Ford adds the right amount of fiery behavior with compassion as the legendary General Manager, who makes it no secret that although he’s out to do the right thing, he’s also motivated to win by taking advantage of Robinson’s baseball skills. If there is a 3rd star to the movie, it’s the lovely Nicole Beharie as Mrs. Rachel Robinson, who serves as her husband’s strength and main supporter. 42 will inspire, delight, make you feel anger, and most of all help you to understand the difficulties that those before us had to endure while trailblazing new paths for minorities in the future. A must see film!
(AllHipHop News) The furor over Rick Ross’ Molly-Gate continues to swell. Yesterday, Reebok dropped him from a lucrative contract. Twitter was a buzz as rappers such as Slim Thug and Meek Mill supported Ross while others defended women’s rights.
Now, Rick Ross is speaking and apologizing. In an official statement released today, the rapper states:
“Before I am an artist, I am a father, a son, and a brother to some of the most cherished women in the world. So for me to suggest in any way that harm and violation be brought to a woman is one of my biggest mistakes and regrets.
As an artist, one of the most liberating things is being able to paint pictures with my words. But with that comes a great responsibility. And most recently, my choice of words was not only offensive, it does not reflect my true heart. And for this, I apologize. To every woman that has felt the sting of abuse, I apologize.
I recognize that as an artist I have a voice and with that, the power of influence. To the young men who listen to my music, please know that using a substance to rob a woman of her right to make a choice is not only a crime, it’s wrong and I do not encourage it. To my fans, I also apologize if I have disappointed you. I can only hope that this sparks a healthy dialogue and that I can contribute to it.”
Reebok has also released a formal statement on Rick Ross.
“Reebok holds our partners to a high standard, and we expect them to live up to the values of our brand. Unfortunately, Rick Ross has failed to do so. While we do not believe that Rick Ross condones sexual assault, we are very disappointed he has yet to display an understanding of the seriousness of this issue or an appropriate level of remorse. At this time, it is in everyone’s best interest for Reebok to end its partnership with Mr. Ross.”
Do you accept his apology?
