Oh Tory!
These days nearly everyone seems to incorporate elements of trap and autotune in their music… then there is a whole ‘nother lane of mumble rappers so clearly a lot of rappers sound a like. Some even get mistaken for each other.
Interestingly enough, Tory Lanez’s recent guest verse on a new Meek Mill track, “Litty” was thought to be Travis Scott.
On the ‘DC4’ track, Meek & Lanez use heavy autotune to brag about their luxury lifestyles. While fans questioned Tory’s sound and style on the track, Lanez replied saying,
“I can’t sound like somebody I wrote for…”
Tory has revealed over the years that he writes often for other artist, so much so that people fail to realize how much writing he does for others. He also revealed in the past that he helped write Travis Scott’s verse on “Brand New Champs.”
