Mac Miller may have been annoyed by the Republican debates based on some of his recent tweets. He brought up the fact that racism is still a major problem in our society. With his remarks he seemed to address what some of his peers aren’t interested in addressing. He explained that although music brings people together, it doesn’t mean people completely get some of the messages. One tweet that stood out in particular by Mac said,

“Dear White People who listen to rap music…..What have you done for the #BlackLivesMatter movement.”

Many were divided. Some feel that white people love black culture but not black people. Some felt that nowadays music cannot be assigned to a race. Should being apart of black issues be a prerequisite to listening to rap music? What are your thoughts?
