(AllHipHop News) Queens, New York Hip-Hop group Onyx is planning a new phase of the career, with a management deal between the group and the Uncle Louie Management. The group, known for their hit singles “Throw Ya Guns” and “Slam” from the classic 1993 album Bacdafucup are hard at work on new material for 2011. “Onyx is a brand with international credibility and their image and energy will serve to land main stream endorsement deals. One thing is for sure, “Slam” is a universally recognized word!,” “Uncle” Louis “Louie” Gregory told AllHipHop.com. Onyx was originally introduced to the Hip-Hop game by Run-DMC legend and fellow Queens native, Jam Master Jay. The group, which consisted of Sticky Fingaz, Fredro Starr, Big DS and Sonny Seez, released seven albums, although death stopped the growth of Onyx after Big DS lost a battle to cancer in 2003. Both Fredro Starr and Sticky Fingaz have successfully pursued careers as actors. Between them, the rappers have starred in The Wire, Moesha, Save The Last Dance, Clockers, Law and Order, Burn Notice and others. In addition to Onyx, Uncle Louie now handles the careers of Eric B., The Fat Boys, Das EFX, JJ Fad, Kurtis Blow, Special Ed, MMA fighter Frank Trigg and wrestler Bill Goldberg. Onyx will take advantage of a variety of deals already in place between Uncle Louie and various companies, including Urban Outfitter, Hot Topic, Footlocker, Spencer’s Gifts and others. Onyx is currently on a 20-show tour of the Ukraine.
