(AllHipHop News) Prolific New York emcee Talib Kweli is spending his Halloween night helping to share more than just candy. The Black Star rapper will headline “The Night of the Living Dead” concert event in Cincinnati, Ohio. Proceeds from the showcase will go to “Turn the Tables & Scratch the Violence,” a Hip Hop centered anti-violence campaign.
“The event was created to show the youth true Hip Hop isn’t dead and there is positivity in every aspect of the culture,” Director of promotions Marshauna JaQuin told Fox19.
Kweli has ties to Cincinnati. He teamed with Cincy native Hi-Tek for 2000’s masterful Train of Thought album. The duo, known collectively as Reflection Eternal, released the follow-up LP Revolutions Per Minute in 2010. Kweli is scheduled to release his next project Gravitas later this year.
